Refs with an unfortunate missed call and Drew Brees not going to the super bowl :(

Since I live in Louisiana, this is literally all I have seen and heard about since last night.

Why do you need two sets of magicbands? As a local I'm always confused on why people get new ones every trip. Seems so wasteful. Just curious on what everyone does with them all and why people don't opt out of getting another set when they already have ones.

We get new bands for every trip, plus we have our AP bands so we have different colors. We like to swap out the puck inside with other bands to have multiple colors sometimes, like for Christmas we did green and red. I've been keeping them to make this wreath. Still have lots hanging around that need to be added, then I'll hang it on the wall over my desk

I love it. I use it for scrapbooking, sometimes cards, we made our wedding invitations with it and I did paper flowers for my bouquet :) I use it for shirts for trips too. I've copied Etsy designs too, or sometimes I'll buy them if they're a couple bucks or less and I really like them. I got some great Christmas Vacation svgs last month :thumbsup2 I also got an Easy Press last summer-ish on a deal, about $75 all in. That basically changed my shirt making life because the iron I was using was junk for that. I read a lot of people saying to just get a real shirt press instead, it was better, but I don't have room for that right now so an Easy Press suits me fine.

I have a Silhouette Cameo and a heat press. DH got it for me right after we had our DS and I use it for tons of projects. I've made decorations for pretty much all of DS's parties and make shirts (Disney and others) all the time. My heat press has been a game changer. We did these group shirts for a trip this past October. I know the text may be a bit hard to read in the pic, but we got tons of comments on these.

I think we are going to do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Does anyone know what time they usually stop for lunch? Is it during the tour or at the end? We are going to Ohana's that evening and want to make sure it is spaced out enough.

We did KTTK in September. I don't recall the exact time, but our lunch was definitely during the tour and IIRC it was between the two attractions we visited.

For those that do shirts on a cricut, does the vinyl make the shirt stiff? I want to try and find a Mickey tank top for my August trip but it seems like the shirt wouldn't be as comfortable if I found one off etsy (or asked really nicely and paid one of you to do it and give you business for a biz card :D). I don't like that a lot of women's tanks with designs are like the back of a sports bra so you have to change what you wear under it especially when most solid colors are a normal style. Also why I don't have a Mariners tank.

Thermoflex is my go-to for vinyl, but I'll use Siser as well. I agree that smaller/thinner pieces of vinyl tend to make better designs for comfort. We'd done a few with bigger Mickey heads and DH thought it made the shirt stiffer (and hotter as they were worn during a summer trip). Those shirts did not wash well either.

Liking the format of this new thread. I was a little nervous at first when I went to catch up on the old one and saw I couldn't comment, but quickly realized what had happened. Had a busy weekend so we're already on page 55 on this new one before I even had time to post. In CC related news, I just finished MSR on my SW Plus last week and received my SW Biz Friday. Hoping to finish up MSR on that one quickly to get CP so I can add DH to a flight we have booked for April. Not much else going on for me on the CC front right now.

FINALLY got the 10K MR pay over time offer on my Biz Gold. I've been checking Biz Gold and Rose Gold for it every day (already had it on my Plat, Biz Plat and Biz Green). Yesterday I got an email for the Biz Gold with the 10K offer and enrolled. Rose Gold, I'm looking at you...

I also went ahead and SM'd Chase about the 50K bonus points for DH's SW Priority (my patience lasted only so long, lol). Got an SM back that the points have been earned and will show up on the next statement in Feb. That's fine in terms of our travel plans for CP and might mean DH will get some bonus points under the SW promo, but I think it is so strange that I already got the 2K points for the base spend, but the bonus will take longer. Especially because the bonus and base points for his SW Biz posted at the same time. I'm just glad to have the confirmation in writing the the 50K bonus points have been earned.

Cross-posting from the DGC thread...

Has anyone else done the $45 back on $45 Sam’s Club membership? I joined, downloaded the app, thought I had everything good to go... went to do scan and go and it didn’t show up. I asked a manager and she said it was a $45 gift card that would be e-mailed to me, but that doesn’t seem right... what did I miss? Really hoping I didn’t mess myself up by doing scan and go on this order :headache:

I'm in the middle of trying to sort it all out so I don't goof something up and miss a money maker part while signing up :) But the manager was incorrect, it's not a gift card, it's an instant savings code/coupon (whatever they call that) that will show up on your account. From the posts on DoC you don't need to even use the Scan and Go, people get it on online orders... some are even getting it twice. Since it's an instant savings offer/code/whatever it can't be used on anything that already has an instant savings on it, but otherwise it should pop up when you try to make an eligible order. It would have just been too simple to give out a gift card, sigh.

ETA: ok reading the fine print again, it's just a $45 credit on your next purchase:
*The $45 incentive will be automatically deducted through Instant Savings at checkout when you purchase at least $45 in eligible products.
New member must join before February 28, 2019 to receive offer. $45 off one transaction of $45 or more offer will be loaded onto new membership account via Instant Savings within 72 hours of membership activation and is valid for 30 days thereafter. Items with existing Instant Savings offers are not included in $45 calculation. Purchases of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, milk, fuel, pharmacy, gift cards, memberships, or shipping costs are not included in $45 calculation.

You could do CIP now and try United Biz right before the 3/18 - that’s almost 2 months.

I’d probably go for the CIP now since URs are more versatile and you don’t have immediate plans for the United miles
You could also see how you feel about applying for the United card just before 3/18...since it will be just under 2 months from the CIP

I’ll post a few saved DPs when I get the chance if you’re interested.

I agree. @PolyRob, I think you’re more than safe to go for a Chase biz card now. You may be able to squeeze in the United Biz app before the 75k offer expires. And if you don’t get approved, it’s no big loss because you’ll keep some ceiling open for a possible CIP #2, CIU, and CIC. Besides CIP #2 would be more lucrative than the United Biz anyway because 80k UR signup bonus + 20k UR referral bonus > 75k United miles since UR transfers to United 1:1.

Good luck!

I did it! Submitted to the Chase gods lol. I got "We need to review your request a little longer" online. Immediately called and the status line says 2 weeks. I am hopeful!

Those are awesome!! I'm going to have to try the Thermoflex brand too.

But now that I'm thinking this out, it'll be 24 months since I got the CIP #1 bonus around July anyway, so if CIP #2 doesn't work in May, I can close CIP #1 and try again in July.

I think we are on the same timetable with our CIPs. I got mine in May 2017 and bonus in July. I’m planning to churn mine so I’ll do that first and then consider another.

This is probably not the answer you want but my simple answer is....because we can. We never keep our bands from previous trips because I don’t like the clutter and we actually get really excited when the bands come in. It makes the trip seem more real. I got a Halloween band last year that I still plan to use but only at mk because that’s the only park the special effects work at. The reason we take both sets is because we have a split stay and Dh and I like picking out different colors.

I somehow missed this--magic bands have special effects?

Applying for CIC this afternoon. How much should I put for Annual Business Revenue/ Sales if P2 is just starting out her "business" again? I also forget how long she has been in business.

It's always easier applying for myself because I have a business. I believe these are the categories people have recommended for her eBay business... Retail Books Hobbies, Other miscellaneous store..., All other Misc. retailers. I put her name as Business name and Business Name on Card and I'm using her social as the tax identification number.

If anyone could give me some thoughts on the first 2 questions and check the other stuff I would appreciate it. TIA!
I like to "project" $5k and have been in business for 3+ years :)

Very nice!! Share the details... where are you going??

I’ve done KTTK twice and lunch has always been pretty squarely in the middle of the tour. I haven’t done it since 2015, but I don’t remember it running up onto any of our other meals or anything.

Staying at BWV and getting the Regular Dining Plan. We seem to always stay with the same old places - but we know we like them. Doing BOG Lunch, Cape May, Garden Grill, 50's PT, Yak N Yeti (didn't make ADR, will use Landry's card), Ohana's and Via Napoli. Also have Tony's Town Square but debating on whether to keep this one or just do another counter service at MK and then do Sci-Fi also at HS. We have never done Tony's and seems it gets mixed reviews.. This trip will be Me and DS20 and DD18.

Good to know about eating midway during KTTK Tour. Then I can keep our Ohanas ADR time.
