I usually get super high credit limits...$32,000on my chase personal cards...but the business limits are a lot lower..$11k
So what kind of business income do we need stated? $11k might work for one semester tuition if I pay the rest with cash. For DH I can actually do some online sales and possible consulting. For me it would have to be a possible future business with no current income.

I’ve been sellin on eBay for 15 years and income averages around 16k so I put that

Thanks for posting. This is very interesting! Have you ever booked National with AA points? I haven't really paid attention to the AA chatter since we are Delta hostages, but I might now. We have a reservation in PDX in July that is over $800. Way too much for a rental car for a week.

They have a variety of companies. I just use Alamo, because I have always had a good experience with them. When you go to the AAdvantage site you will see the points listed relatively high because it logs you off for some reason when you are browsing the car rental portal. Be sure to take the next step in the dummy booking (may require a re-login) and the points drop in half.

One thing also is to be sure your trip is firm. You can switch dates for a $30 fee, but not locations. That will cost you $150, so be sure your location is firm.

Just did the AA Aviator card for a single purchase and a $95 dollar annual fee (and I hate AFs as much as South Fayette Fan!), but will I pay $95 for potentially $2,000 plus in free car rentals? Heck yeah! We have used in LA, Orlando, Richmond, Philly, Vegas, Dallas, etc. with no problem. We are SW flyers exclusive, so it has been a great way to use AA points.

was that the rate when you were signed in? the rates are much cheaper if you are logged in. For a week in December the Grand Floridian was 340,000 points.

@kayteekt - you're breaking my heart here... DISchurners has your back for all the info you need ;) LOL!

  • You'll find that AA Miles are worth 1cpp towards hotels if you are logged in and an "exclusive" member. Likely 0.85 if you are non-exclusive and only 0.6cpp if you aren't logged in.
It seems like maybe you weren't logged in because everytime we've checked here it's at 1cpp so your room should show 46,000 AA miles in that scenario. (granted the AP discount probably wouldn't show on the AA site)

I'm logged in. I read through the reddit link twice. Should I ask ?s over there @SouthFayetteFan

Wow, that's an amazing price! Love how a portion goes to the elephants. The review I read was really positive.
Awww, my DD would love that, I'm going to take her next trip. Thanks for sharing!

I think Keys to the Kingdom has a minimum age of 16. Its a great tour and usually includes lunch and a special pin.

That was the original plan, but DH wants to get the helic just in case and I'd hate to leave all those reward points on the table.

Ok. So if you are basically decided you will use either a heloc or CC - the 0% CC is probably the better choice. My plan would involve none of the above, but as it has been stated on this thread many times, everyone plays the CC game differently.

I followed up on my 1099 MISC from Chase this morning. The CSR( I hesitated to type that on this thread lol) said they had over 2000 customers receive them in error. I'm thinking more than that! New forms should be rec'd within 30 days of Feb 7. She was able to look at mine and tell me that my $500 is now $5. So, I feel a little bit like an idiot. I though $500 was from my referrals for the CIP....nope....it was from my Freedom paperless billing which should have been $5. But, then where is the hit for the referral bonus? Maybe since that is points, it doesn't count? The other line on my form was my Disney referral, that is basically cash, so that makes sense.

But regardless, I would have never been aware of that error if it wasn't for this thread!
And I'm passing on the paperless billing offers I got on 2 cards yesterday. Not worth the hassle.

@Sarah_B I should have said as @Judique said, we used GCs for part of our upgrading. We bought a $500 Disney gift card at our Kroger during 4x FPs, then used that with our 7 day PHs we had already, then paid the rest with the AMEX out of pocket

PEI DP: I signed up and downloaded app but have been slacking on adding my cards as I hadn't stopped anywhere yet. Yesterday we went to Target so while in store I added my Barclays since I was going to use that... didn't realize until I got back to the car that it errored out trying to add it due to poor service. So I went through and added it again, thinking it was a long shot that it would pick it up still... but it did pick it up. I woke up to app notifications about it this morning.

so.... apparently the person whom I don't know has purchased $82 of merchandise at Bath and Body works...I seem to get their email reciept a few times a year..... I've confirmed it's not my purrchase on any of my cards, so I just ignore it now but it skeeves me out to get someone elses info that easily by mistake. When I brought it up to a phone rep last year they shrugged and said 'it happens' without further fuss. ok...

Are you able to let the person know that you are getting their receipts?

No - sorry, you can just discuss here, lol. It just seems like if you're not seeing 1cpp then something isn't right.

Can you give the specific dates, resort, and room type you're looking at? I can take a look.

EDIT: I went back and checked my November example you quoted on DISchurners... Yacht Club for 5 nights at $592 per night does equal 59,200 AA Miles so that's 1cpp (they round up to the nearest dollar so it's 0.995 cpp lol!)

That’s the plan if it codes as entertainment. If it codes as travel then I have enouh travel credits to wipe out the upfront cost and the bridge cost. That’s why I asked :)

Someone else may have responded by now. I think if you run the charges through your room bill, ie pay with magicband, they may code as travel, but using the card at the kiosk will usually result in entertainment.

Poking around the AA site. The cost is definitely high browsing the car rental portal. How far do you take the dummy booking? Do you do the dummy booking as if you are going to use points?
