I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

So last week when we were at BC on a room only reservation booked using a "magical" rate, the front desk said that I owed $3xx dollars for the room, due to taxes and extra adult fee. I contacted my agent and she said after an hour on the phone that it was taken care of. Before we checked out I checked with the front-desk and it showed a $1563 credit, which was the full amount of our stay. I emailed our TA again and she said she'd get with them. I haven't heard back from her yet, but now I have a $563 balance on my DGC, which really should be $0. I'm thinking the other $1000 is probably on another DGC somewhere, although I'm fairly certain I've checked all the cards they could be and the balance isn't there. So, I guess I'll just hang out with my extra $563 and assume eventually it'll get taken care of. Not sure how this got so screwed up! I'm glad I normally book on DVC points!

Nothing to make you kick the vending machine habit like prices going up again We got two new machines yesterday... not only did prices go up again, like knock off little Debbie's are $1.75, but it also adds 10 cents when you use a credit card

Also, explain to me how the little debbie's/ 6paxk mini donuts are $1.75, but I can get 20 sandwich cookies for $1.10?

So, to recap...I applied for my dh the barclay aviator biz for the third time about 8 biz days ago. He's been denied twice now. First time they sent snail mail asking for verifification docs. Sent those back very next day, never heard from them again. Next time, he was auto-denied. So, today they CALLED him! And he answered.... They grilled him about his "business" that he doesn't even know much about. He's not happy with me right now....Like REALLY not happy with me....

BUT he got approved! With a whopping $650 CL

Sorry he wasn't happy, BUT congratulations on the approval!!!

@amalone1013 and @PolyRob - I went ahead and closed my BoA checking account. I moved the money I had left in there out (about $1600 which was keeping it fee free) using zelle, so no fee there either. Then I called. I waited 30 minutes on hold, and then someone answered and hung up on me. I called back and it said wait time would be 50 -75 minutes. I hung up and tried again a few hours later. This time it was a 15 minute wait. I was prepared to tell them the reason for closing was the ridiculous wait times on the phone, but they never asked. I just said I'd like to close my account. She said she could help me with that - asked for the account number, but me on hold AGAIN, for a few minutes. Came back and said it was closed. Easy Peasy.

Thanks for the information! That sounds really easy. I need to get around to moving the money. I left my DD that triggered the $300 and I would like that money for other things

we went that january too. celebrated my parents 60th anniversary with DL 60th. cool posing them below 60th aniversary signs. it was such a great trip with my siblings and their kids, my kids, my grands. big group!

Obviously yesterday I shared the exciting news of being approved for my 80th card as a churner. (This does not include the Discover card I got back in 2002 as I wasn't churning then). I'm sure we have some other VERY prolific churners, and others just starting out who are proud of their accomplishments so far. If you aren't able to answer this question - perhaps this is a good time to sign up for an Experian.com free account or CreditKarma and figure out just how many cards you have gotten!

Our first 2 cards were in 2011 (each got a Disney Visa). It wasn't until 2014 that we got more cards and we've been churning hardcore ever since.

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
2 Player Mode

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
80 cards total; 48 for me and 32 for my wife. 78 of those cards have come in the last 6 years.

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
We got the Citi AT&T Access More card back in Oct 2015. I got a free iPhone 6+ as the sign-up bonus from that card for a $2k MSR. (And the phone purchase which was refunded as a stmt credit counted in the MSR). That card no longer exists in that form any more.

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
One of my goals a couple years ago was to slow down... since that time we've gotten 23 cards in 24 months so apparently I'm not very good at that! LOL!

2016 - Started to earn free flights/nights to help with wedding/honeymoon costs. I had the plan of SPG cards for Swolphin, SW card for flights, and Disney Visas for the $200 GC sign up bonus. Then I found out about the SW CP, the CSR came out... I fell down the rabbit hole! And we had cash on hand for all of our wedding expenses so we just kept opening cards!

Together we had 13 cards from before then going back to 2013... most of those were DH going wild with store cards

September 2017. I honestly don't even know how I figured it out or started reading this thread! A friend of mine posted on facebook that she had a link for CSP and I decided to apply.

25! 12 for me, 13 for DH.

Not an unusual card, but I did get the Barclays Aviator Biz with the one purchase MSR for both of us last summer. I also got the Capital One Venture which I don't think a ton of people here have.

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.

My recent trip to WDW has only inspired me to go harder on my churning and MSing! Even though cashing out URs to pay for the trip is a bummer, it still gives me the opportunity to travel and take my family when I otherwise wouldn't be able to. While I may not achieve maximum value for my URs, I still consider it well worth it! Also, I've already MSed enough this week at Office Depot to pay for our flights to MCO in February with URs!

I posted this a few weeks ago:
Update on my World of Hyatt Free Night. Card opened on 7/7/2018, AF charged 8/1/2019. Free night has exp of Sep 5, 2020. I am sure it was not in my account on Sept 5, but whatever. So about 60 days from opening anniversary, about 8 weeks to post because I swear I looked yesterday.

That is for the newer World of Hyatt CC. @Judique has the older Hyatt CC and hers came immediately. They told me to expect 10 weeks when I asked.

ETA @pillow applied not long after I did. Did you get your night yet?
