Yeah, sorry. I just meant I couldn’t make the math work for us to keep it. I think everyone needs to sit down and do their own math when it’s time to decide whether to close a card or keep it and pay the AF.

Absolutely! WE all have different travel styles and goals.

Yep I did

Ok, I couldn't find it but will look more thoroughly after work today. Cant wait to watch! Thank you!

Kind of a poll for you all as my dh is filling out travel stuff for his job. If you could choose any hotel chain to earn points from (where work was paying), which would you choose?
Oh that's easy, BONV ... just kidding. Hyatt for sure!

Ok shun me for this: I don't care about the parades. I stop and watch for a minute and go on about my business. I get annoyed when the route blocks my path to the next ride on my list.

I will say I did enjoy the Christmas parade. I watched the Halloween parade during Not So Scary from the train platform.

I cannot imagine ever paying for an event inside an event. I'm getting crabby in my old age. Get off my lawn!:crazy2:

I barely notice the parades but last year I had to stop for a while with daughter and babies for the afternoon one in MK where there was a lot of dancing in the hub. We joined in the dancing when they stopped and asked for people to join in, but other than when trapped, that's my main parade activity in 30 years. I put a small wrought iron fence up to keep my son from edging his vehicle onto the edge of my lawn when he lived with me. A fence does wonders!

And, I've paid for the events, Halloween, etc, but won't pay $50 plus for sweets to get a good view of anything.

No they haven’t at the BW

At some resorts the gate guard checks a list to see if you have an ADR. I've been refused entrance at Contemporary when I wanted to eat and didn't have an ADR. In my turn around to leave, we paused and made an ADR and he was able to see it, which gave me great satisfaction as he was just plain arrogant and rude. Something I had not really encountered a lot of from gate guards before.

So you can’t get QS? I guess because you can walk to the MK they are strict. But also Big River Grill at the BW doesn’t take ADRs so what if you wanted to eat there?

Ok...I just had a super dumb moment...

I transferred 12k URs from my wife's account to mine. (I'm planning to use these for that Hyatt MCO).

I did a few other things, 10 minutes later I login to my account (mind you...I'm logging in to transfer those to Hyatt). I see that I have 12k points and got all excited that something must have posted like a support click or something. AND CUE FACEPALM!! Wow - that was pretty dense of me, hahaha!!! It took me about 5 seconds to remember that it was me who transferred those 12k points just a few minutes ago.

@SouthFayetteFan - this is my normal life now. But, didn't start having those symptoms until 60plus. Are you sure you are NOT a little retired older man as I originally guessed (with a lovely young wife and kids - May - December you know - nothing to hide!).

Doesn't hurt to touch it. Knob doesn't hurt. It feels like the pain goes around the knob on the heel side, not quite under the knob. It's stopped now but it stopped earlier and came back. It's just so odd. I wear flats for work and I started a new temp job Mon, but when I'm home I wear my addidas slides most of the time and generally only wear support in my running shoes. I do sometimes wear my vionic flip flops around the house and have been for a few days or so cause the PF on my right food is acting up, fun when it's always been the left but I think it's more my calf that's tight. I should be able to get it to go away since I have before on the other foot. My feet are just a mess right now :)
Sorry, I went to bed! Sounds like maybe some tendonitis of the peroneals. Have you been increasing your mileage or something else that might have changed your gait? Time for new running shoes? Find a good PT :crutches:
I'm off to golf in the crappy Chicagoland weather.

It only happened to me once but it's entirely possible to get questioned and refused entry. BW can be tough from what I've read. I would stick with Yacht and BC entry.

It’s the post with the queen of hearts restaurant as the first picture

I have never tried to get into the Contemporary without out a reservation so this is good to know.....I also think it helps that DH and I are a bit older......one guard gave my 31 year old son the third degree even with his name on the BWV reservation

I am a super germaphobe, so I completely understand. I do not boycott Disney buffets 100%, but I am very selective and would prefer a family style meal. Club level was interesting. I went early, picked items that could not have been in the proximity of the handle if the utensil was placed directly in the food (glad to see others notice this too HAHA), and had plenty of hand sanitizer. I am still alive to talk about it. :)

You should see me travel on an airplane. Not claustrophobic or affected by the motion... the stains, trays, coughs, sneezes, windows :crazy2::scared:

The things that get me are door handles. You can't avoid them. They are everywhere. How do you all rationalize these? People touch them all the time and there is no hand sanitizer next to most of them for people to use. I just grab and open and try to have a place to wash up before eating. But, like most people, I constantly touch at my face, wipe at my eyes, have a ticklish nose, on and on.

For hotel, I was thinking Hilton or ihg. When we go on road trips or visit places other than Disney, we end up at HIE or Hampton inn or embassy suites. But y’all are all suggesting Hyatt so hmm...

I think he’s just prioritizing in this travel website which chains he’d like the system to try to book first. Then there’s rules around how much he can flex on the costs.

I think program-wise, Hyatt has the best right now after Marriott Bonvoyed SPG.

But in terms of footprint, Hyatt has far fewer locations than Marriott or Hilton, which can really inconvenience DH if he has to travel and can’t find a suitable Hyatt nearby.

Comparing the two biggest chains, Marriott or Hilton, I’d probably go with Hilton’s program if I was paid/reimbursed for travel. Remember, @disneymagicgirl’s DH travels a lot for work and tends to stay at Hiltons. Maybe she could chime in? I guess the major thing is with Hilton and paid stays, it’s so easy to earn lots of points. Unfortunately, I think your DH needs to charge travel to the corporate card, right? So he wouldn’t get the additional earning power of charging a Hilton stay to the Hilton Biz, Ascend, or Aspire. But these cards could still boost him to automatic Gold or Diamond status, which would give him a bump in the points he earns for stays as an elite member regardless of what card it gets charged to, and would give him the perks of room upgrades and free breakfast.

Thanks to all who helped me with my Universal and Hyatt questions! We booked a bunch of things!

I used 147,232 URs for 1 night for my Sister/Husband @ Aventura (Fri); 2 nights two rooms at Hard Rock for 8 people (Sat/Sun); 1 room at Hyatt MCO (Mon). Cash price for all of that was $2,454,93 So I got a better than 1.6cpp value across all of it (largely because that MCO Hyatt was just 12k points but the cash price was $426 after tax!).

We will use another 150k or so URs for the Universal Park Tickets. So I'm using ~30% of my UR stash on a < 3 day trip. I just had to share this to prove I'm not hoarding today, lol!

Just had to comment on your generosity to family! I love it! A few days ago, I was reading one of those 'what to charge my family' posts somewhere on the disboards after plans were already made. They drive me nuts - if you need money, figure it out before you invite someone.

Southwest for the airline! It’s how we get to MCO and all TX airports.

So I was going to go against the grain and suggest either IHG or maybe Hilton, since you are looking for an exit from Bonblooey. Not that I traveled extensively, but IHG was our policy preferred hotel chain and there seemed to be good reason - everywhere I went and most everywhere I heard from co-workers had a brand available. This worked for me since I was going to look for them anyway having the most points in that account. They also usually had the most reasonable prices for comparative rooms so it was easy to justify (and again, probably why they become the preferred program).
In terms of just footprint, Hilton is also a good choice plus does he have a Plat that gives status? That could also make it nice on his trips and rack up the points faster. I found Hyatt limited and usually a touch higher in price, so while it would be nice to earn free Hyatt points, you may be splitting it with another chain anyway (depending on where he ends up travelling. Do y'all have any idea yet if it'll be the same areas over and over or could be anywhere? If it's the same regions or something you could do some research for what's available)

There we go, thinking alike again and going against the grain.

Hey, I make premium (and crappy) pet food for a living! Lol

Ha I was gonna ask what time. We are planning on epcot Friday night after our tour

Sounds like dismeet time to me! I've done this many times over the years. Some people have become dear friends and some I wouldn't remember if I fell over them.
