Those buildings are SO. MUCH. NICER. Just changing up the coloring in the hallways makes it feel so new, fresh, and modern. He said they are in the beginning stages of planning renovations and he was a higher up, so he probably knows what he was talking about. If I were to stay at poly again, I'd do a DVC room instead of a village room, hands down, but I'd only do it for a MK heavy trip due to transportation frustrations.

I love Poly, but agree 100% that the rooms are looking pretty rough! The elevators are also kinda creepy in the longhouses. Its a shame because I do love the grounds and environment. The DVC longhouses are so bright and inviting and the room decor is very nice. I've read reports on Tikiman that there are Poly test rooms in other longhouses so hopefully the village side catches up soon. Once it does, it will be hard for me to book GF or CR over Poly!

I have a solo trip coming up and have a studio booked for myself split with YC. Seems like we have similar hotel standards

Ugh...our 5pm SW flight home tomorrow was cancelled....was able to book a 9pm flight home....will get home after midnight...not looking forward to work Monday....
SW Rep didn’t know why...told me to email customers service and ask for compensation....anyone have experience with this....I have no idea what to ask for

All the iTunes talk revolves are the app. But for those of us with a PC and not a Mac it's not really an app. How will ours change? Bloomberg says it will mainly affect Mac users. Not really concerned about losing my purchased music, but having a big issue with all the personal music I have loaded over the years.

my guess is that we will no longer us iTunes to load music, movies, tv shows etc. My guess is that they will break all these into different apps, hopefully making it easier to load them. On other system, all u have to do is simply drag and drop. iTunes requires u to load to itunes then onto iDevices. Im hoping they would move onto something easier.

I think the whole iTunes gift cards and app store/Itunes stores will remain in place. I doubt that will change. i think its mainly the syncing part thats being discontinued as many ppl complain about it.

Need some Hyatt expertise. I am looking for 2 nights in Seattle in July. Yeah I am changing up my plans. I was going to use my free IHG night there but now I want two nights and not willing to pay cash or points for a second night at the Kimpton. Looking at alternative IHG properties in addition to Hilton and Marriott. I don't have any Hyatt points but found a place for 15K points a night and I believe I can transfer URs to Hyatt. I just made a Hyatt account last night so I guess I am a World of Hyatt member now!

The Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown say "This Hyatt Place hotel now offers free breakfast exclusively for World of Hyatt members on a qualifying stay." Does that apply to any member level (especially my lowly 1 day membership) and points bookings? Is there a limit on the # of people? There will be 3 of us.

Does anyone know about this property to recommend or not recommend?

It's near the space needle so not what I'd call downtown. You'd want to walk over to Seattle Center where the needle is to catch the monorail downtown to do stuff there. Unless it's late at night or early morning sat or sun traffic around there is a ** and you don't want to drive and if you uber add extra time in. The monorail is a good option because there's a lightrail station nearby if you need it or you can walk a lot of places from Westlake. It's in a good area, I noticed it when I was in the area a couple months ago. It's def doable for the points savings as long as you budge for the transportation cost.

highly suggest Hyatt Olive 8. like what @afan said, the monorail is a quick ride to and from the space needle. it also sits near the tram line so you can get to other places quickly. its also down the street from the wharf area. only 5k more points!

I was in seattle with the help of this group, had a ton of fun!

Hey - any of my URs for Universal Hotels friends...

First off, it seems these are fully refundable so I might as well lock something in now for our trip and I can re-think it later if I want and switch...

Secondly, will Universal release any discounts for on-site stays? I've never researched that lol. I assume if they did, those discounts could make their way into the UR portal and I could re-book for a discount?

I booked ours for Dec last Oct after seeing them in Aug and in Oct it was 1k more UR for the same dates. Figured I can cancel them so better to book and save on points. I did book a room for one set of dates and another for the same start but different ending. now that swa schedule is out thought about cancelling the other one but now I'm thinking of waiting incase swa changes their prices next month.

Seriously making me want to plan a Universal trip. I just want something cool to use my UR's on. We've never been to Uni and aren't terribly drawn to going but using UR's to pay for the hotel there is so enticing...Makes me so sad, once again, that Disney fell off the UR portal and I'm left not understanding and SMH.

they have canceled our flights a few times in the past few months. they wouldn't give compensation for the canceled flights and I asked for all 5 flights for DH. I did get some for this last flight but only because our flight was delayed and the flight attendants behavior was uncalled for. their conversations were too loud for little kids to be hearing. as an adult I didn't need to hear it but I shouldn't have to explain to a 5 yr old or 7 yr old what things are that they were talking about. my 8 yr old we had already had the talk so she knew what they were saying

Thanks. I notice when the official title says downtown it probably isn't!!! Monorail & light rail sounds great since I really don't like driving in cities where I am unfamiliar. I also love to try public transportation in new cities.

Still looking at options but it is on the list. I have to see what all the oop costs are - parking, breakfasts, transportation - in my comparisons.

We’ll be fine. Remember last time they released a major Apple App to the world? Apple Maps was... Run for the hills iTunes users!

I'll never forget my one experience with Apple Maps. My best friend had just gotten her first iPhone in 2015 and was using it to navigate as I drove several of us to a winery for another friend's bachelorette party. As we were driving down a road in the absolute middle of nowhere with nothing nearby, her phone announces "you have arrived at your destination." We could figure out what was going on until she said "I put the address you gave me into Apple Maps!" We were 15 miles away from the winery. Fortunately we weren't on a time-sensitive trip and could have a good laugh about it!

This is what makes me wonder if I should just go ahead and apply for CIP 2 today. My statement on CIP 1 closes today and then I was going to cancel. I suppose I could always just go for Hilton Biz for DH today and go for CIP 2 in about two weeks though.
