Earlier this week I was posting about my Amex SPG Biz having the AF due. I had pretty much decided to just keep it and not incur the pop up danger. BUT now I have changed my mind. I want either the Delta Biz Gold or the Delta Biz Reserve. I haven’t decided which but that is a separate post. My question: what is the best way to get the rid of the SPG Biz and get one of the new Delta cards AND not make Amex mad?

Wrinkle to it is that I need to have the new card in hand by June 12. So 10 days. (I have to pay off the rest of my DVC purchase by then and I would want to use the new card to make the spend). I don’t want to have to wait for a rejection letter or anything like that.

I want/need another CIP. Credit limits all lowered over last 2 months. It is 3 months since last Chase card (Ink Cash) is June 11th. I don’t have any other business cards. Last application Chase can see is October 2018. I know the wisdom is 3 months but I need to have the card by June 12. (So I can make spend in one fail swoop on the DVC contract). Any thoughts if I should just apply now since it is June and call it good or wait a couple more days? I am sick of waiting...and hello it is June!

You could see if you have a targeted offer by entering your skymiles and last name here:

Same as the public offers but maybe (?) more likely to get approval since targeted and no lifetime language that I can find (please verify yourself before applying, I’d hate to cause anyone to miss out).

I’m debating pulling the trigger on the Platinum but $6k is a lot of spend on Amex...might go for the 70K miles with $4k spend on the gold. Waived AF too which is about what I value those extra 10K miles at.

No promises it will work since you just can't predict how Amex will react but I wanted the BBP so much (I must have had a large bill to pay?) I called after I got the message it wasn't auto approved and asked to talk to someone and no I didn't have the case file yet and it seemed to work-I cancelled one of my zillion Deltas and was good to go. I'm fairly sure it was received within 10 days but I don't do spreadsheets, per se (I know, I have my own couch in the shun clubhouse). That would be my suggestion. Good luck!

I just pulled it using the cardmatch tool. Have you tried there? Sometimes if you make your address a bit different (17 Lyons instead of 17 Lyons Court for example) it can trigger the offer. I got the 100k offer for DH using an old address but wouldn’t recommend that as the card is shipped to the address and we had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it updated and a new card sent. Good luck!

Do you know what number you called? Did a number pop up after application went through? I don’t do spreadsheets either. So make room on the couch!

It has a lot on Volcanoes National Park and on the Hilton Waikoloa. Not so much elsewhere on the Big Island. My top most memorable experiences on the Big Island from previous trips, are snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay (Captain Cook Monument) and snorkeling with manta rays at night. The snorkeling at Captain Cook was bathtub calm with so much colorful coral and fish.

Thank you, @wanderlust7 , I was wondering about the manta ray swim at night. I have two 16 year olds and they thought it would be scary. We'll check out Kealakekua Bay. We are staying 8 days in Kaanapali, 3 in Hilo and 2 in Kona.

If you can meet the spend I think the Delta Platinum is a keeper card. The companion certificate I find pretty easy to use and it’s value is always more than the $195 AF. (Flights to places I want to go for less than $195 are few).

Cruise. I really wanted to do cruise and land but the Disney cruise we are booked on is round trip to Vancouver, unless I switch to another cruise line that is just one way. What do you guys think?

look into Land and Sea cruises... i know Princess will take u from Vancouver to Alaska, then put u on a train through denali national park. i believe u also stay a night in the park as well.

We took a Princess cruise north from Vancouver, but did the land portion on our own. I wanted to focus on Denali NP and none of the cruise tours had enough time in Denali. We rented an RV and camped in the Savage River campground, then took the shuttle bus throughout the park.

First day of the farmer's market here, practically the only place I use cashBought some seedlings since what I've planted so far have all been duds... Spent the morning and afternoon working on putting my planters together, and hopefully making a proof area of my lawn for planting. Very happy with how everything has turned out, I still need to plant some zinnias and sunflowers and get a package of zucchini seeds. Plan to apply for the hilton bus probably tomorrow or Monday. Quick run to costco, and hopefully going to have a nice evening grilling out (if the weather holds). Happy Saturday everyone!

Not wanderlust but I can tell you that my DH and DD did this in Kona and they say it was amazing and incredible and that they would do it again if we returned. I didn’t go because I get seasick and apparently it was a good idea since friends went and got really sick.
