Do it!! Lol I am loving my serve card. I’m going to try and buy $5,000 worth of the $200 cards to load to serve this month. That’s $250 if I redeemed for cash $375 for travel.

Just signed up for Serve. So when do you have to have the money out to avoid the fee? Last day of the month? Or is there a closing date like a credit card?

correct. i havent heard anything wrong with vgc and serve.
Currently, MCGCs are having issues with Serve, but BB is still working just fine.

i pay most of my bills on MCGCs and/or VGCs. only bill i havent figured out how to pay for free is my gas bill.

I'm getting 2 % by paying using my NFCU Flagship and I have to pay ahead to make this worthwhile. My electric this month is only $76. Natural Gas is less. and water is less than a $100 every 3 months. The convenience fees are small, and I will pay them when I have an sub to get.

I can still use a few Disney cards for my next years dues, but I've still got $935 worth of credit to use on my gold card at Lowes for 10% off, so that will finish that off.

I'm thankful I have such minimal bills, but it makes earning and sign ups fairly difficult unless I have insurance or an unexpected expense.

I might have some I can do with this... right now I just have it set to auto pay to a credit card.

Need to look into it more. I'm just a wimp and scared to try.

I've been in a weird space, just quietly reading along. DH had an MRI today. It should be read tomorrow. Hopefully everything is okay. This is from his recent ER visit and a CT scan that showed a little something abnormal. I am taking a vacation day Friday. I'm pretty mentally fried right now.

Conversation Starter:

Is anyone else already actively working on 2021 vacation plans? I've already got my 2020 locked in with a Disney cruise and a trip to WDW for food and wine. I've got 2021 pretty narrowed down too.

I can't talk about this in real life - people would think I was insane planning trips that far in advance. But I can't be the only one, right?

Once I'm under 5/24, I'll be actively racking up URs again and I plan on using them for either Greece or Norway.

Praying for good results for your DH. You've been through the ringer lately, hopefully a mental health day will be just what you need. :grouphug:

I am (and have been!) planning trips into 2022, if that makes you feel better! We are planning on a ski trip in Jan 2020, WDW Marathon weekend that month as well, and Disneyland in summer 2020.

For 2021, we are planning on a cruise, probably during Spring Break, with some friends of ours. We've done DCL a couple of times, and now that the kids are older, we're going to try out the Oasis class ships on RCCL.

For 2022, I turn 40 early that year, and I've always said I want to do a trip to Napa... that may change (the location, not the birthday!), but I'm still planning! :goodvibes

Before I buy any more Visa or MC gift cards, I need to figure out how to liquidate them. Every time I go to use one, I look at my 4MR on groceries and restaurants - Rose Gold, or my 4 cents on gas, Costco Visa card, or my 2 cents on everything - Navy Flagship card, or even my Hyatt and Amtrak cards.....

I guess I'm going to have to try this out as I can't keep running around with this cash equivalent in my bag and pulling out my credit cards instead. I have the new Safeway offer and I've done it twice already (when offered last two times) and I have most of the cards in my bag.

That Staples offer is calling also.

I use them on anything I'd only get 1% return on. Mostly that's been little medical bills lately, $7 lab charge here, $20 prescription there, stuff like that; also movie tickets and convenience store stops (if I'm not doing debit card purchases for a bank bonus :) ). If I'd only get 1% and I'm not going to return it, whip out the VGC/MCGC. Does take a little bit to liquidate this way so I don't hop on too many of the GC deals when I don't have specific need for them.

Although if Staples is still on Dosh I might be compelled by the Visa offer...

The closest one to us would be about a half hour drive. We’re just gonna go with chase because they’re really close to our house. The problem isn’t using ATMs (I was wrong earlier, we get $25 a month in ATM fees through heritage). We just need somewhere to deposit money in a checking account.

NFCU has an App for that. When I get a check (It has to be under 10K) I take a pic with my phone and drop it in my account. I only go to the branch once or twice a year, usually to use the loose change machine.

Thinking I might jump on the GrAAvy train to supplement my UR/MR stash (possibly for flights, but would also use for DLR resort if possible). I'm about done with the MSR on my CIP#2, and I want to temper my velocity a little!

Stats:

P1
8/18 - CIP#1
10/18 - CSP
3/19 - CIP#2

P2
1/19 - CIP

I'm planning to do the multiple CIPs as long as I can, but I think it's safe to wait until next month to go for P2's CIP#2. Between now and then, I could easily meet a $2k MSR with medical bills.

If I've read the "manual" correctly on Dischurners, I need to get a biz mailer, correct? And I need to request to be added to the reddit marketplace for that?

Since I now have a 2% on everything card, I have no more 1% spend. Unless I forget and use the wrong card.

And forgetting is a problem - Chase freedom 5% at grocery stores Rose Gold 4%...I've whipped out my gold card quite a few times for just small trips when I should have used my Freedom.

Edit: I think some of it is vanity - that Rose Gold is so pretty!

You don’t need a mailer for your first card.

We mostly recommend this offer - Business 40k + $250:
https://creditcards.aa.com/citi-business-card-american-airlines-viewres

Also you don’t need mailers AT ALL currently due to a loophole that Citi doesn’t currently enforce the 24 mo. language. I’m sure we will report back if that loophole closes. :)

THANK YOU!! I knew the additional mailers weren't needed (for now, anyway!), so I'll make this work to my advantage while I can!
