I left a negative Ebay comment for my DS

I've never done this before but I just didn't like how it all went down. It was my DS's money.

I mailed the money order via certified mail on 10/29/02. It arrived in 3 days but he did not pick it up until 11/9/02. His record states that shipping will be withn 2 weeks or less of payment receipt. I sent a couple of emails and he kept saying that it was coming. I emailed on 11/26, "where is it" and he stated that I should get it in less than a week. He said he sent it, it got returned for a wrong address, didn't have my email to contact me, didn't know how to find me, thought maybe I hadn't paid..... yada, yada, yada. (Note: the ebay record is available for 90 days, with my email address. We also emailed each other at least 5 times. No excuse, IMHO)

The YuGiOh cards finally arrived on 12/9/02. One of them was in Japanese. I emailed him and received no response. We paid for the English card.

Six weeks, poor excuse for not contacting me, wrong card. I'm not happy. I know that there is a risk with Ebay and I accept it. I'm just sorry that my first bad experience was with my DS's money. I know that a negative response it a big deal. I felt it was justified.

Sounds pretty justified to me. I think you may have saved another young person from a bad experience!

I have had too many bad experiences on EBay with folks dragging things out beyond the Ebay guarnatee period. I have lost $1500 there, and I can be their WORST advertisement! I don't touch Ebay with a ten foot poll now!

Claudia, you did the right thing. {{{hugs}}}

I am sorry you had such a bad experience.

I have always been lucky and we have not had any problems with our Ebay purchases but I know others who have had terrible experiences and have lost money.

It sounds like you did all you could be expected to do to resolve the situation so don't feel bad.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Is your DS looking for a specific YuGiOh card? or are you having trouble finding them in general?

You were justified in leaving a negative comment, but don't be surprised if the seller leaves a negative comment for you in retaliation. It happened to us and unfortunately eBay really doesn't do much to protect buyers. They say they do, but....You hear about sellers ripping people off who also have several negatives and complaints made against them by several buyers, yet eBay still allows them to list auctions/sell stuff. :confused: :confused:

Yes, there was a specific card that he wanted. It was also at a good price.

I weighed the prospect of a negative retaliation and decided to risk it. I rarely do Ebay and I certainly upheld my end of the deal.

We'll see what happens now.

Be prepared to receive a neg in return. Calmly reply that the neg was in retaliation and ask people to contact you for details. That should temper any bad reactions to your feedback.

You had very good reason to leave negative feedback, I would have done the same.

Sorry your son had a bad experience.
