So I leave in a week for our first trip to WDW. I have searched and studied these boards.

So far I have:
-ADRS
-magical express tags/info
-park itineraries for each day
- hotel requests are already in

What other things should I know? :confused3

The most important thing I can think of is to get to the parks well before opening every day with a bottle of water in your hand, always have a fastpass and keep yourself hydrated.

Have fun

Have fun, relax and enjoy the vacation, take time to re-charge, the heat will be bad.

When you get tired, two rides: TTA and Carousel of progress to cool off or sit down!!

Pace yourself, rest and SUNSCREEN if you are pale at all! I got scorched in May one year because I didn't put enough sunscreen on. Take a hat too, and wear it, trust me.

Take a little homemade first aid kit. Tylenol, kid's too, if you have kids, allergy/sinus medicines, chewable Pepto, bandaids.

As pp's said PLENTY OF WATER and sunscreen!

I'd suggest not going on the days where a park has "Extra Magic Hours." Those days are PACKED. More crowded than normal days.

You may want to call and confirm your ADRs especially if you have several.

One good tip that I got on these boards was to take your own pump soap for the sink--Disney provides bars only, and the kids don't do a good job with bar soap.

Take Woolite to wash your swimsuits and clothespins to hang them on the lines over the tub.

Those packets of instant drink mix are great to drop in your water bottles, especially if you dislike the taste of strange water.

Nap at noon.

...and, most importantly, remember....ice cream melts FAST in the summertime!

Have fun!

I take bank envelopes, one for each day. On the outside I put the date, ADR numbers, park we plan to go to with opening and closing, and special events like times for parades. Inside I put the traveller's checks. This way I don't get confused or overwhelmed. When my day's money is gone that's it, if there is some left it goes into the next days envelope. Each day's game plan is spelled out separately and I don't overspend. :cool1: And they are fun to make!!!

Also I go over my lists especially the one I prepare for WalMart on rt. 192 again so I get what I need and don't overspend. MUCH cheaper getting water and sodas by the case there than individually at the resort or parks! :thumbsup2

Six more days for us!!!

WDW must haves:
-fanny pack
-disposable ponchos
-2 pairs of very comfortable shoes to rotate on alternate days
-sunglasses and a a sun visor or very cool hat (Florida sun is BRIGHT)
-list with ADRs
-Cell phone (used only to find missing party members... no regular calls)
-Some way to attach ID to each child

When you get there, take a deep breath, relax and have a great time! You won't see it all -- so really enjoy what you see!!

Have a magical trip!

Wow! - I've never done fanny packs, disposable ponchos, visor or hat, ID each child, or alternated shoes

Only the ADR's incase of mess up and occassionally sunglasses, but found they were a hassle with pictures, indoor rides etc.

It goes to say, to each his own!!! - and we all have great trips.

I say ditto to what everyone else has said plus a squirt water bottle fan .. its going to be so HOT!!!! and.. pack your patience!!! Lines can get long!!! But hey.. you are at disney!!! Enjoy!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! LOL :artist: thanks for painting me a picture! :artist:

This year I am planning to order a case of water from Staples on line and have it shipped directly to the resort. Others on this board have done it, and said it is in expensive and convenient.

P.S. Don't forget the small disinfectant hand-wipes or gel.

If you've got young kids, throw a few band-aids in your fanny pack.

My kids always bring their goggles to use in the resort pools & waterparks.
We also brought some inflatable tubes with us to CBR last month. ($2.99 each at Target).

The kids loved them & they were the only ones with them in the pool at CBR. I guess many people don't think about tubes for the pool.

Okay, from the resorts can my dad get a taxi or some transportation to the Walmart nearby because we can't take the water on the plane like we wanted to. He was thinking of renting a car but I thought it would be a waste of money because we would be using Disneys (much better) park transportation. Thanks!

A taxi from WDW to walmart and back will probably be more than a 1 day car rental --just rent a car on property either at the CAR CENTER or at the Dolphin Hotel...they will come get you and take you to the car center---if you just need the car for the 1 day--this is the best way to do offsite shopping.
