OK.. we are reaching the home stretch here!! thats right i'm doin the single digits dance:banana: but now i'm stressing.. wait I was always stressing but now i'm trying to get it together :rotfl: I want to make a l;ist of places to to get snacks at but don't have time to read through all the pages and drool at food porn. soooo can you all give me your favorite places to get snacks and what snack it is that you just can't resist!!!

Also I am having Yachtman's cold feet!! I have an adr there for me and df for his bday but now i'm thinking maybe Le Cellier, or Les Chefs de France might be a better idea:confused3 What do you all think??

Yachtmans (which is 2ts, is it worth it??) or Le Cellier (if I can even get in, I'm gonna ask the man when we get there) or Les Chefs De France (I think it i underated, and I know it has openings. Could be a real gem)

and don't forget list those desserts you love and where exactly to get them, be specific i'm a dope:rolleyes:

THANKS:hug:

For snacks I tend to stick with the classics like popcorn, mickey bars, sundaes, funnel cakes, frozen coke, frozen lemonade....etc. You can get those mostly at carts around all of the parks. Cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls and those other sweets are good too! The main street bakery would be my favourite place for that but Writer's Stop (DHS) is good, and Goofy's Candy Co. is fantastic!

As for Chefs De France - it is one of my favourites! I ate there for my birthday last year and it was great! The food and service were outstanding and we could see Illuminations. If you go try the profiteroles au chocolat for dessert! It's devine. Creme Brulee isn't bad either ;)

In anycase, you guys have a great trip! :)

I LOVE Profiteroles!! My boss owns a restaurant and gets those from his baker friend.. yummmmy!! thanks for the yummy suggestions, main street bakery is def on my list!

Our favorite snacks are the smoothies in future world, the dole whip floats in adventure land and the make your own chocolate/candy covered treats at Goofys Candy Company in DTD. I saw funnel cakes in Epcot and MK that looked really good but it was just too hot in August to eat them. We haven't tried Yachtsman but we just did Chefs de France, my DH raved about it and thought that it was better than Narcosees. I liked Narcosees better but thought that Chefs de France was very good and could be worth repeating next year. We did lunch at Le Cellier a few years ago and it just didn't live up to the hype for us. What about Coral Reef, we have had great dinners there the last 3 years.

The Yachtsman is fantastic, the food is awesome. We have also eaten at Chefs de France and really enjoyed it but that is totally different food from the Yachtsman....if you are in the mood for a great steak keep the Yachtsman

Yachtsman Steakhouse (Signature Service) ☺☺☺☻
Bringing up the rear in the line of signature dining locations, Yachtsman offers decent steaks and pretty good service. They do have a great porterhouse and the diver scallops appetizer is excellent. This venue just lacks that special something that sets apart the signature restaurants from the mundane. For the money (or for the credits), there are many places that come through more consistently.

Chefs de France (Table Service) ☺☺☻
I just can't get behind this place. The menu was created expertly, some complex items and some, well, that you can get at Cracker Barrel for $7.99. However, French cooking is not an art, it’s a science and the kitchen staff isn’t living up to the quality of the original creators. Chefs de France has fallen victim to the most common pitfall when the recipes aren’t created in-house… inconsistency. And that’s a deal breaker for me. Is the food at Chefs bad? No, but we just don’t bother eating there anymore. Give me consistently great food or leave it in the kitchen. Est-ce que c'est trop difficile?

Le Cellier Steakhouse (Table Service) ☺☺☺☺☻
Worth the title of Signature Dining, Le Cellier is still 1 credit on the Dining Plan. Chedder Cheese Soup you can’t get enough of, perfectly cooked duck, & fork-tender mushroom filet mignon makes you forget you’re dining in a room full of Canadians. They no longer have their signature Maple Crème Brûlée but who has room for dessert after all those carbs.

As far as the snacks go, we always make a beeline for the The Lunching Pad to get a stuffed pretzel and one of the frozen carbonated drinks. :thumbsup2

We ate at the Yachtsman steakhouse last year and loved it. In fact, we are going again next month!

No matter what you decide, have a great trip! :)

I absolutely LOVE the Yachtsman. Try the Chateaubriand for two. It's is fantastic!

As far as snacking - try the chocolate mousse at the Patisserie in the France Pavillion.

Otherwise, popcorn, popcorn, popcorn!

Happy eating!

Have you seen the confirmed snack list? You don't have to read a lot of pages, it's all there for you in post #1. I printed it out to look it over, just printing the 4 parks and the hotel we are staying at. I hope this helps as well! Have a food-rific time!

2008 Comfirmed Snack List

I knew I would get some great answers!! Thanks everyone!! Ok, I think we are going to stick with our yachtsman. Le Cellier is impossible to get into, and idk how I feel about being seated right next to someone:confused3 Keep the snacks coming though!! I'm gonna make a list in a little while and i'll post it on here :)

inkedupmomma, I'm from Philadelphia and have lots of friends from Bucks County. Hello neighbor!

I can't give you opinions on your TS meals as I've never eaten at any of them! But I love snacking around the World. The Cantina in Mexico has a lot of great options that are quick and, if I remember correctly, cheap. The portions were big enough for me and DBF to share and be totally filled.

Some of my favourite snacks

1) Dole Whip at Aloha Isle in the MK. It is also available at a self-serve machine at Capn Cooks in the Poly. :thumbsup2

2) Funnel Cake - always yummy. You can get these at the American pavilion in Epcot and in the MK in Frontierland I believe.

3) Main Street Bakery Ice Cream Sandwich - two freshly baked cookies with scoops of vanilla ice cream sandwiched inbetween.

4) Cannoli in Italy - Nothing is as yummy as a cannoli!

Our favourite snacks are School Bread at Kringla Bakeri in Norway, and Fudge at the confectionary on Main Street.

We have eaten at Chefs de France our last two trips and we love it. LeCellier is our favourite but you will have to be lucky to get in at this point.

My personal opinion is that if you are on the Dining Plan none of the Signature restaurants are worth it unless you have credits to kill. Back when they included appetizers it might have been but not anymore.
