I know things are bigger in Texas, but...

...that doesn't mean I want the Texas-sized horse flies coming in my house!

That's what the cats found in the house last night. A fly (I'm assuming a horse fly) that was larger than some of the cockroaches I've seen around here. I kid you not when I say this thing's body was the size of my thumb.

Flies don't normally bother me, but this one...

*SHUDDER*

Amazingly, it was very easy to hit once it landed somewhere I could reach.

It got flushed.

I've never seen a fly that size before!

So far no huge flies. But like everything else here in Texas, you never know what tomorrow might bring. We were on vacation in Port Aransas, and the ants we found on our balcony were huge. I have never seen anything like them. They had huge segmented bodies with wings. I got bit by one, and it swelled up in a big red knot. That thing itched and hurt pretty bad. Thank goodness for benadryl cream.

I remember last year we grew monster mosquitoes!

I hate bugs of any size!!!
