I know these aren't your typical pins, but...

Well -- I would take them.
Some CMs will refuse them. Some won't.
I have seen them on lanyards. Not often. But I have seen them.

Technically not acceptable under the "can't have a jewelry" closure rule.

But Barb is correct. Some CMs will accept them; others will not.

However, these pins are tradable with guests and other pintraders. In many cases these pins will be happy accepted by those pintraders who focus on Pooh and Friends.

Good luck! :earsgirl:

P.S. A similar thread is on the main DIS Collectors board under the title "Feeling Stupid."

Thanks for all your encouragement!

I wish I had read the "Feeling Stupid" thread BEFORE I bought these pins.

On the bright side, after researching these pins on PinPics, I have found someone who "wants" 9 of the 11 pins and has plenty of pins I would be happy to trade for. Now the pins just have to get here, I have to arrange the trade and perform the trade all before we leave in three weeks!

Thanks again!
Diana

Before I bought these pins, I read the official pin trading etiquette and there is no mention of the backs of the pins, which is why I thought these would be tradable.

It just says they have to be Disney copyrighted pins and metal, show a Disney icon, character, etc. and can be from any Disney place or affiliate. They can be from Spain, Tokyo, etc as long as they have the copyright symbol on them correct?

Or am I reading the "rules" wrong?

Just a newbie trying to figure this all out. I know - the CM will make the final determination.

I'll try to keep it simple and just buy cloissone pins with the clutch back and copyright on them, I guess.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me out.

Diana,

You know . . . now I'm not certain exactly where the non-jewelry pin rule originated. :scratchin I thought it was in the Pintrading brochure available at WDW, but maybe not.

I don't know if anyone else might remember the source????

Not sure either.
Again, some CMs will refuse them. Some will be happy to have something different on their lanyard.
On our first WDW we went on the KttK back stage tour. I had a heck of a time trading our extra pin. I even remember it was a WS custodian who accepted it in trade. And he was at least the fourth I had asked. Geez -- it was a WDW pin afterall! And a more HTF one too.
Then on another trip when Pin 7939: Gold Heart with Arm and Wand Variety Charity Pin was available, I had CMs asking to trade for those.
So -- if one CM says no. Another will say the opposite. Personally, I am just happy to see any pin that isn't a DS pin. ;) Most everyone has all of those they want by now. ;)
