It is called Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort! :thumbsup2

We just spent 5 days in HHI. Everytime we go we love it more and more. This resort is a magical place. It combines old fashioned vacation fun like fishing and crabbing off of the peir and bike riding w/ the special Disney touches. The thing that makes this place special is the Cast Members. They really are special.

If you haven't gone to HHI or even considered it. you should.
On second thought-it wasn't that great
(Don't want to spoil my 7 month booking chance!)

I'm leaving on Saturday morning!!! My only real concern is the lack of high speed internet, because my online class starts on Wednesday and I need to check in and at least get my assignments.
I stayed in Sea Pines about a thousand years ago when I graduated college, but haven't been back since. I'm a big Pat Conroy fan, have read every word the man has ever written and I LOVE his descriptions of his beloved Low Country. Can't wait to immerse myself in it!
I stayed at DVC at Vero Beach last year and the quality of that resort was one of the selling points for me to join DVC this year. I'm hoping for a similar experience at HHI. I know the resort isn't on the beach like VB, but that's not a huge thing, really.

HHI is great, a real laid back yet totally comfortable & magical experience.

I just read another thread yesterday from someone else who said the DVC at HHI was their worse vacation ever...but I should not be surprised.

DVC is made up of 100,000 people with differing likes and dislikes. Thank god we are all different...what a boring world it would be if everyone was like me...50 something, empty nester, accountant, moderate republican and worst of all...lifelong Red Sox fan...oh the pain of it all !!!!!!!!!!

So, at 7 months you were able to get late summer ressies? That's heartening to know. What size villa did you have? I would love to visit HH, and late August to the middle of Sept. would be a good time for us.

I'm glad you love it so much. I think I/we will too.

Bobbi :)

We have a 2 bedroom villa and we booked after the 7 month window. No problem. We picked Labor Day week though because kids are either starting school that week or just started school and parents aren't going to take them out for vacation that week.
We've done other vacations that week and it's not hard to get ressies at all.

Thinking of going next June.

Please tell us more about your trip. I'm going thru HHI withdrawal..We usually go every March, but DS had to go and get married this past March, screwed up our vacation plans, so we won't get there until November. And I hear Cracker Barrel's gone? Piggly Wiggly still there? Where did you eat?

Fitswimmer - if you have problem with the internet, the public library there has High Speed access.

Excellent! Can I bring my laptop? My school uses a Verisign certificate that is unique to the computer I'm using, so I can't access the site from another computer.

I'm hoping not to have to spend too much time on the net while I'm there, but I do need to check in .

I so agree. It's definately not worth a trip there. Only thing they offer is lots of relaxation & great family time. Certainly not worth the annual trips we've made over the last 6 years. ;) Very different from a trip to Walt Disney World and that what appeals to us the most. Even though we love Disney World, it's hard to go to WDW and truly relax. We always manage to do that in Hilton Head. :teeth:

Simba's Mom -- Piggly Wiggly was still there in July. :)

Sorry, I can't answer that; it's been a year or so since I used the library computers, and I just used theirs. Maybe you could call them (the library, I mean)? Good luck, and enjoy your trip!

OP here!

Sorry it took me so long to reply-Started a new job and it is VERY time consuminh. Teach First Grade)

Anyway, we got a 2 BR. at the 7 month for August. It was late August when NY schools are not back in session yet and SC and many other parts of the US are. But I recall that when booking, there definately was availability at other times.

100% of these post are fake. They all had a great time and are just making up bad stuff to keep people away so they can visit in the summer with the 7 months booking window.

Well as they say another man's treasures is someone's junk, so I guess it can apply to DVC as well.

We too feel HHI is a treasure in the DVC family, :thumbsup2

Glad you had a great time.

DH and I just returned from HH on Saturday after six great days there.

It really is a special trip. Lots of relaxing!

I'll write a trip report later. Almost all good!

Simba's mom: The Cracker Barrel is not longer there. Don't know why. :confused3
It was doing a great business last year when we were there in Oct.
