**I know it's early, but...what are your X-mas gift ideas???

GREAT ideas so far!! I think I will be using some of those! :)
Keep 'em coming......

DS13..I Touch, some video games and Nancy Drew pc game (he loves playing the Nancy Drew detective games. It's not Christmas if he doesn't open one)

DD11..Mp3 player, American girl doll (Chrissa) and possibly a DSi

DS9..DSi, MP3 player, legos (bionicles), and his annual Hess truck

then of course there are the assorted sweatshirts and pants they usually get.

My 9 year old daughters birthday is in Nov so I have to get a gift for that and then more for Christmas. She is getting a laptop for her birthday this year and thats it. For Christmas she wants one of the new Nintendo D/S with the camera in it and some Wii games and DS games. Other than that I have no idea yet and I know the relatives and friends will be asking soon what to get her for her birthday and Christmas!

DD is 15.

Since she will be 16 in April, and possibly driving, there may be a GPS in her future - depends if there is a great deal on Black Friday. And possibly an Ipod Touch.

Little gifts - I-Tunes gift cards and a extra set of cards for Apples to Apples.
Some years - although I don't think so this year - we get her a VISA gift card.

For stocking stuffers...DD LOVES to get Breast Cancer Awareness pencils as well as other B-C-A office supplies. And to think...the first box of pencils I got her were on clearance for $0.65 about a week before Christmas. She LOVED those - so now I get at least one box when the get put out - just to make sure she gets them. The other stuff (post-its, sharpies etc) I wait until there is a "deal" on them.

For other people who need ideas for their teens - if they don't have their own digital camera - that is also a great idea! My DD has really used hers a ton!

DD 13 will get a Kindle or a mini-laptop. I'm not sure I want her to have a laptop yet because I like having the kids' computer downstairs where I can monitor their usage. It's hard to pay for a Kindle though when a laptop is almost the same price!

She also wants gift cards to her favorite clothing stores.

DS 10 wants an iTouch, an upgraded subscription to the Roblox Turbo Builder's Club, a Lego Club membership, Lego sets and the newest Nerf gun that just came out (I don't remember the name of it).

I have not done a lick of Christmas shopping yet for the kids, DH or any other family members! Yikes!

Hmmm, you've got me thinking.

DS (21) - possibly a GPS or a new set of pots and pans
DD (18) - possibly a GPS

We do stockings and I always get them a calendar. I'm thinking that this year I will try to find some movies on DVD that were their favorites that we have on video tape.

I have 2 DD's 17 and 14 and have NO idea what so ever!!!! Same with DH no ideas!!!! So who knows........

I'm dreading the teen years! It should get easier as the kids get older, but I think it gets harder.

Just a suggestion, a GPS is VERY distracting in the car-it might not be the best thing for a new driver to have-maybe wait a year???

I have no idea what we are getting for the kids this year. As they get older it gets harder. They NEVER give us lists so that doesn't help any. DD14 wants a Coach purse so that is a maybe for her. DS14 needs new golf clubs to that is a maybe for him. DS17 goes off to college next year so maybe his own laptop?? I was also thinking about doing a family trip, maybe a cruise, instead of gifts. I don't know, it is only September so I haven't given it any real thought.

Well if ds(15) is still with his girlfriend I am assuming he'll want gift cards to places. I feel like I'm dating her. Time for him to get a job.

My 12 year old is still way into Vera Bradley(so I have to head over there to use my birthday coupon to buy her some stuff)

6 soon to be 7 year old. Wants a couple video games, some cooking stuff, and legos and a bike

4 year old son- not sure at this point. Maybe a new bike too? Some lego guys(Oh please don't let him ask for someone obscure- last year Santa bid on EBAY to win a spiderman lego guy-So now ds thinks he can ask for whatever and Santa will provide. Thankfully he still dreams small.

Nieces and nephews- Well I bought a Lego Book signed by and author for one nephew. And my little nieces are getting some necklaces that we made (bead lady bugs) and probably a little purse of some kind.

Bigger kids are getting Itunes gift cards- or maybe a coach something for one and some polarfleece for the other(he's in school in Albany) I bought him North Face stuff last year and I think he liked that.

Maybe something from his school?

Sorry, this will be a long post, I love shopping for Christmas :).

Dolphin Cross Stitch, Doll Making Kit

Last but not least, she wants a laptop (netbook, mini...)- so far she has $110 and asked that I match it to get her own. Waiting on an awesome deal.
She also likes hair stuff, lip gloss, nail polish, comfy pjs, fuzzy socks, and shoes. She's moved up clothing sizes and to a size 7 womans shoe from a 4 at the first of the year, so I'm waiting a couple months b/4 I buy those. We're going to the Hannah concert in Nov with floor seats from my mama's bday gift to her, wish Selma Gomez was touring, dd LOVES her.

My ds (7) won't sit still long enough for me to create his wish list but he likes:
Games/DVD's:
Wii games- Ghostbusters, G-force, Aliens in the Attic, Spongebob Truth or Square, Scooby Doo First Frights, GI Joe, any mario Super Mario Galaxy
DVD- the new Scooby Doo (Wendy's has $3 q's on the kids meal bags)

Toys: new soccer ball, Nerf Sword, Nerf or regular football, new scooter, so he'll have one at grandma's too, Legos

Events: any WWE- for the last few years, we've been able to get him & his daddy floor seats to whatever WWE event is in town.

Clothes (he actually LOVES clothes gifts):
anything will skulls, rock, or WWE, pjs-character ones like GI Joe, lots of shoes

Books:Teacher's classroom is based on the book Wayside School, so he wants those books.

I plan to take my son to NY for Christmas, that's the BIG gift!:goodvibes I just want to show him that there are MORE people like ME in this world! :lmao:

Other than than he sent me his yearly email of the dvds he wants... :sad2:

We're going to Disney in Nov and doing MVMCP and the Wishes Dessert party...that's their gift. :goodvibes

The relatives usually go overboard with toys and clothes for the kids, so I try to find things that don't take up much space: Wii and DS games, subscriptions to Club Penguin, that kind of thing. DS loves reading Archie Comics, so we will get him a subscription to that. I'm looking for a book club from Scholastic for my daughter. I also think replacing our computer will be a family gift.

I have no idea what they want from Santa - that list gets made much later, when the Toys R Us big book comes out. ;)

Our kids have been saying they want a fish tank for a while now. DH and I are batting the idea around of having Santa leave one for the family. This is our kids year to spend Christmas eve with their other parents, so we could get it all set up while they are not home so logistically it would work.

Other than that.... books, video games, legos, a telescope, a rock tumber, sleeping bags, new jammies, anything pokemon, Bakugan toys, itunes gift cards, skateboards, ice skates... those are my ideas so far.... I really need to start shopping!

There is always that one last item that is hard to find and you run around like a nut to get... this year I am thinking it is going to be that zhu zhu pet hampster toy. Not sure if my boys will want them, but if I see any I am grabbing them because I have 5 nieces who loooooooooove that kind of stuff.

We did a fish tank two years ago for Christmas. Christmas Morning there were dead fish. :( Kids were excited with what was under the tree that Dad was able to flush before anyone noticed. But you might want to set up the tank, and then take them for the fish. ;)

I really haven't had a chance to sit down and think about Christmas, but the other night my DD (who will be 15 by Christmas) told me she wants a shower docking station for her ipod so she can listen to music while she is in the bathroom. For those of you with music lovers, this seems like a pretty good gift idea. DH is bound to start shopping anytime now so I told him to keep his eyes peeled and pick one up if he sees a deal. I leave him in charge of buying electronics. Also, she goes to a school that has several clothing items available as a year-round fund raiser. I was thinking of buying her some school gear (i.e. pajama pants and a sweatshirt). She loves her school so this would be right up her alley. Plus, she already has the sweatpants they sell and is always telling me how much she loves them. For those of you with teenage daughters, don't forget a nice piece of jewelry is always a good option. DD asked for a nice ring last year so I picked up a birthstone ring for her birthday (in December) and she has worn it everyday since. Girls that age are old enough to appreciate such gifts.
