You don't have to use your debit card in the park. Just set it up where you can charge to the room (assuming it is a check card and not just one you can use in the ATM machine), and you can use your room card in the parks and restaurants. Once your acct hits a certain amount, the hotel will send a charge through to your debit card. Or if you want, you can stop by the front desk each day, check your acct and authorize the charge at that time. That way, you can keep an eye on how much you're spending.

Here's a cut and paste from our last trip to Disney:

Shopping/souvenirs: $500 (My kids got about $100 each in GCs to take with them, then we allocated this and didn't use it all)
Dining Tips: $250
Misc. Tips: $50 (Airport porter and mousekeeping)
Buffer(Misc like a cab ride or surrey bikes): $200
Wishes Dessert Party: $125
Alcoholic beverages: $150
Airport Meal going to Disney:* $25
Airport Meal coming back from Disney: $30

I would think that 3100 is plenty for you. I did want to give you a piece of advice that has truly cut down on spending in our family; put the money you are giving your children on a gift card and let them take charge of their own spending.

You will be amazed that all of a sudden, that $10 thing they had to have no longer seems that important!

You can hold on to the card if they aren't old enough to do so.

We had $1300 set aside for travel and spending money for our trip last summer. We were at the parks for 5 full days, plus 2 full days of driving. The $1300 covered all gas, food there and back, plus a couple meals we paid OOP (we had the DDP 4out of the 5 days). We had around $300 left of the money we set aside when we got home.

I think $3100 will be plenty!
