I just treated myself to a new set of...

:rotfl2: Only Deb! Well, I have a confession to make... I love, love, love Lego! My DS5 got the police station for his birthday and I was so excited to put it together for him!

:eek::worship: Mama likes!!!

Hey!! How're you doing Tracy? I just noticed you on page 1 of the TR board the other day and plan to get back soon to read it. Guaranteed fun! Haven't been on that board in ages.

Glad you like Lego too. So that's Lego, Monchichi and Waldo we have in common. How mature are we? :lmao:

I can't believe your ds is 5. Wow! My little one is 5 too. Where are our babies gone? Oh and I hope he didn't try to get his hands on your ('his') Lego set. ;)

LEGO is like Disney, you are never too old for it. DH and I have engineering backgrounds, and so we've always had LEGO around to build with. DH built a soccer stadium, and my two big projects were I made a LEGO display that looked like the column and arch part of the Muppet Show intro where all the characters come out, and I made a building that looks like the Jewelry Store on Disneyland's Main Street. We had to take them down when we moved, but we're in the process of buying a house that will have plenty of room for LEGO building.

That is fantastic. Did you get photos before you took them down? And so true that Lego is like Disney - never too old!

Here are a couple sites LEGO fans should check out.

Wow! Thank you!

i just took pictures of all of his legos here they are!

and the lego space mountain isn't disney space mountain :sad1: (i thought it would be when he told me he was building space mountain, and i was disappointed when he finished. lol)

I know! You've been missed around these parts! How are your beautiful little ones?

Maturity is for old people! :lmao:

So good to see you! :flower3:

I bought that RV "for my son".;)
He has more Legos than I can even tell you-he loves them, and I love to put them together for him. He plays with his Legos for hours and hours, but for some reason, he never puts the sets together, even though he builds tons of stuff with random pieces.
Today I went through his Lego bins and got his fire house pieces(took hours, literally, to find them all) and built his fire station for him, because he got the police station as his early b-day gift and wanted them both set up in his room.
This evening I did the police station.
What's better than Legos? Nothing!

LEGO. :lmao: I'm 40. God how sad is that? :rotfl: I couldn't resist. DS was buying a Star Wars set and I saw a Lego City Camper Van - complete with a couple, a bike that goes on the roof, a BBQ with a fish cooking on it, cooking utensils etc.

I never stopped loving Lego. :thumbsup2

We were hoping to buy a motorhome this year - this will have to do for now. ;)

Oh!! The camper!! I love that one. I ask DS10 if he wants it each time we are on the LEGO isle. Believe it or not I never thought about buying it for myself....I am so buying it this weekend.

Those photos are wonderful. Wow!!! Wait til I show my two boys. They've made some fabulous stuff over the years. We had the Hogwarts castle at some stage but now all those bits are just mixed in with a million others. :scared1: We're definitely gonna download the instructions for it again though and see if we can make it again. Thanks a million for sharing. :)

Aw thanks Tracy. My 3 are getting so grown up! My eldest is 15 now, towering over me, then Dan is 12 and, like I say, dd is 5. Looking forward to catching up with you on your TR. :)

Aw, you're such a great Mom to gather up all the right pieces for him. That's so cool. I love that he makes random creations too. That's shows real imagination!

Yay!! :woohoo: That's exactly what I was doing! I kept saying to DS "hey you should get the camper" and he was like "nah, I want more Star Wars" and I said "but look at the cool camper" etc etc :lmao: Then it struck me that there was no law against me buying it for ME!!! lol!!! Enjoy putting it together!! :thumbsup2

It's funny that this thread was started, because I've recently been reintroduced into the world of Lego! I have two younger brothers (who are now 17 and 25!), and my mother still has the tubs of Legos that they collected over the years. I think the best set they got was a castle set sometime in the mid-90s. That thing got played with a LOT, and once they built it and dismantled it, they would build their own castle. In my opinion, Lego is one of the best investments in a toy that you can make for your kids; my 17-year old brother and his friends had the Legos out a few months ago for a history project :)

My SO's son just turned 6 and asked for Star Wars lego. Unfortunately there isn't much variety where I live, but SO did find a couple of sets. They are expensive, but I think the price is more than worth it for a toy that might get 10 year's use.

 One thing I've always wondered- what do you all think of "fake" Legos? I know that there are many less-expensive varieties out there, but we never had any, just the real thing. Mega Blocks is one that comes to mind. Do they hold up as well as Lego?

I think it's AWESOME! :woohoo:

My boys (29 & 23) would be all over that!

I must have over $5000 worth of legos in my basement from when they were younger. I thought I would save it for my grandchildren....:rotfl: However, whenever they come over, down to the basement they go to play with the legos!! It's hysterical! Now DD's BF (32) is in on the action, too!

Moral of the story...You're never too old for Legos!

Wonderful! And I agree, it is a good investment as it gets taken out again and again!

I don't like the 'fake' ones. They never hold up as well as the original Lego. My son looks with disdain at the Mega Blocks in the toy shop every time we go in there. :lmao: He really hates the stuff, always has. Disney seem to have lots of Mega Block sets which always drove him mad too as we are big Disney fans. But I see lately they've been working with Lego and will be releasing Toy Story sets next year!!! Guess what dd5 will be getting for her birthday next year? (whether she wants it or not.)

EEK!!! No way! I know one little boy who will just love this :cool1:. Another question about Legos and Disney- do you know what the Star Wars Lego selection is like at the gift shop at DHS? I know it's not going to be cheap, but the selection here in Canada where I live is rather lame.

I didn't really pay attention to the display for Star Wars legos at DHS.

The display at the Lego store in Downtown Disney is large. My son bought 2 sets...$100.00
You can also check the Lego website. They have some very cool stuff there.
