I just saw racism in action (on television)

What I meant by my post is how does she get racism out of what the guard says, and then describes people by their color. Neither are racist comments, but her comments would be seen as racist before the guards comments. Does that make sense?

Did anyone see Omorosa (from The Apprentice) has a dating show on the cable channel TV One. Donald Trump set her up with about 15 eligible bachelors (all African American and 1 white guy). The bachelors are living in one of Trump's penthouses in Las Vegas.

At the start of the progrm, all the men (who are professional, all-Christian men, who are made up of lawyers, singers, entrepeneurs, etc.) are told by head of security that if they want to use the facilities in the hotel (gym, bar, etc.) that they are not to mess up the place while they are there. I mean, who says things like that to hotel guests? Granted they are not guests but they are essentially on a TV dating show employed by Trump.

Wow, that's crazy...or am I sensitive?

My question is why do you see *racism* in the statement?

Because the men are black, you aren't allowed to say anything to them?

You quoted a post that said "I think we will all be one color someday anyway" and your reply was "I agree with you and its a sad thought" or something to that effect. I took the post you quoted to mean that one day, the color of one's skin won't matter because eventually we will all see eachother as the same (because of the smilie). I was just confused as to why you would think thats a sad thought. I could be way off as to what the pp meant, or maybe you took it another way, hence the confusion.

No, I don't think it's sad to imagine color not being an issue. That's a good wish for us. I think it's sad to imagine us all being the same color.

I was the one that originally said it and I do think one way or another we will all the same color some day. i don;t know which will come first the 'us seeing everyone as the same' or 'really the same color' either is fine with me.

I think it would be a little sad if we were all one color just like it would be a shame if we were all brown haired and all the same height and just the same all around. I love seeing the differences between people and think that everyone looking the same would be pretty dull.

I agree that it not mattering in any way would be nice though.
