I just realized this!

:cool1: :cheer2:

That is wonderful! Congrats!!!

Now, do tell: How?

I am (once again) trying to get started on weight loss, so open for any tips you may have!!

Thats great! Have you bought anything new because of the weight loss? I waited and waited to buy anything because I felt like I was jinxing myself.

I finally broke down and bought new panties when mine wouldn't stay up anymore:rotfl:

I'm at 38lbs and going strong so far. When I need more inspiration, I go put on my formal gowns and watch them fall off:woohoo:

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats to you too!! That is really a great accomplishment!

I did want to ask if you'd bought new clothes yet. I dropped 20 lbs two years ago and finally had to give up and buy new clothes. The hit to my pocketbook was bad!

Well, no one else is answering the "how" question, so I'll start.....

I'm not the type of person that can stick to a conventional North American style diet. Instead, I have "food rules". I think it's easier and it allows me to work in all the asian dishes that I love to eat.

So my rules are:

1. No white food : no white sugar or white flour or anything made with those things. no white potatoes, no white rice... you get the picture. I make an exception for tofu and egg whites.

2. No deep-fried food.

3. Only drink water or unsweetened tea. (Once I got down to 140 lbs I allowed myself one coffee with milk & sugar a day as a treat).

4. Stop eating after 7 pm.

I also started working out at the gym - nothing hard mind you, just 30 minutes of cardio at least 3 times a week.

That was it. No shortcuts. And the first month was so hard. Breaking my white-carb addiction was one of the toughest things I've ever done. It was almost like I was going through some kind of drug withdrawal, it was that bad. I was grouchy, I had headaches, I felt like I was STARVING all the time!!

Thanks for the congratulations!

I bought some new clothes when I had lost the bulk of the weight earlier last year. I gained a bit back over the holidays, but have now lost that and more. Also, I put on most of my excess weight just in '08, so I still had skinny clothes in my closet.

As I just wrote in a WISH thread, one thing that has helped me is the saying "eat breakfast like a king, eat lunch like prince, and eat dinner like a pauper". I don't stop eating at a certain time, but I do try to eat light (especially carbs) at night. I also drink more water and eat more fruit and vegetables.

I try to exercise just about every day, unless I'm really sore. Unless the weather is really bad, I try to jog 3 or 4 times a week. I have an exercise bike for other days. I'm trying to incorporate some strength training, like pushups and hand weights, but I'm not very consistent there.
