I have a garden view room booked with the AP rate (254)

Which longhouse-

is non smoking
has balconies
newly refurbished
not too far from the main pool and GCH.

I just don't want to look at a parking lot basically.....

Samoa and Raratonga fit your needs. We had similar requests and were assigned to Raratonga. We loved it! One side of Raratonga does face the parking lot. We weren't on that side. However, upon walking around the property, it looked like even that side would have been ok. There is a lot of mature landscaping between the building and the parking. Also, the monorail goes through there -- that seemed pretty cool. Our room faced the quiet pool and was right on top of the main lobby. Very close to Volcano Pool. We were thrilled.

Good luck!

One of our favorite GV rooms at the Poly is where we have stayed our last three visits there.

Samoa Building, ground floor, looking directly at the Volcano Pool. (Literally 10 steps to the pool deck)

It has a partial view of the lagoon and GF to the right, and a view of the GCH to the left. Great place to sit on the patio and "soak" in the Disney Atmosphere!

There are great GV rooms in most of the longhouses!

Good Luck! :goodvibes

We had Samoa, third floor, volcano pool side. Great view, close to the GCH & Capt. Hooks too. Non smoking as well

Your post could have been mine. LOL. Last night before he went to bed I asked DH if he was willing to move from the CR (where he's wanted to stay since he was a kid) if an AP rate wasn't available. He said "Absolutely." The Poly was my second choice...I thought "I know NOTHING about the Poly." I ended up getting the CR, but I know where you're coming from !

We have requested Samoa or Fiji for our May trip. :) I've also heard good reivews about Tokelau.

:cool1:

I have requested samoa, volcano pool view, 1st floor for our trip in april. We had it before and loved it, I would go third floor if thats all that is available. The 2nd floor does not have a balcony.

If I were in a garden view room I myself wuld see if a room in Tokelau were available. It is the only garden view rooms that have a possible view of the castle and fireworks if you get toward the lagoon end of the building.

Aloha

Steve

Does the Poly have free refridgerators now?

Okay, Tikiman says Tokelau, so Tokleau it is. Samoa seems nice, but maybe TOO close if that makes sense. I know that Tokelau has balconies and does not face any parking

Samoa is a great location as is Fiji...well I could say something good about each longhouse but if I had an order of selection for garden view it would look like this.

1. Tokelau
2. Samoa
3. Fiji
4. Aotearoa / Rarotonga
5. Tahiti / Rapa Nui
6. Niue
7. Tuvalu

Now remember this is my order if staying in a garden view room. If it were lagoon view Tahiti would be on top.

Aloha

Steve
