I Just Put My 14 Year Old Poodle Down

I am so sorry. I know this day will be coming for our 13 year dachshund. I don't know how we will get through it. These fluff balls come into our lives, work their into our hearts, and then have to leave us. I am so sorry.

I'm sorry to hear about Sebastion. These poodles really grow on you, don't they. I never knew what great dogs they were until we got Minky, our black standard. He's a sweetheart as I imagine Sebastion was. They are a special breed.

I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Sebastion. I had to put my standard poodle down several years ago. They are incredible dogs, almost human. You did the very best thing for him. He would of suffered if you had not put him down. He is in heaven now and completely free. I will be thinking about you. Take care.

Losing a beloved pet is never easy. Those wonderful creatures tend to grab our heart strings and never let go.

We lost our 11-year-old cocker spaniel last July, and I know just what you mean about that "once-in-a-lifetime" dog. They take a part of us with them when they leave.

I'm so glad that Sebastian had a wonderful family during his time here on earth.

Standard poodles are the best dogs on earth, I think. I may be biased, I grew up with one and I have one now-Daphne, who's 9. She had a stage III cancer removed from her side last year, and they gave her 6 months. It's now been almost a year later and she's still going strong (knock wood). Her brother died at 5 of hemangiosarcoma.

Every day we have her is a blessing. Even when she eats all the tissues out of the trash.

I'm glad you got to have Sebastian for 14 years, he sounds like he was one special poodle.
