Okay we were there for 7 nights this Aug, and have two weeks in Jan with about 15 family members staying at different resorts planned. After much discussion, DH and I decided to plan on a week for just us in March. I know its a really busy time, I went once on a college spring break and swore never again, but we made the ressies. Here is the thing. We want romance. We did and E-ticket night this last trip without kids and the ambience was great. Of course we'll do Pleasure Island I jsut wan some ideas. Since we will have just been in Jan we are willing to try lots of different things, other than just the rides. Thanks

It will be interesting to see the responses. DW and I are planning the same thing this next February at WL. After 20 years, we can finally take a vacation without the kids! Not that I mind taking vacations with the kids, but you know....

;)

Take a carriage ride - then tell me about it, because that's one of the things we didn't get to do yet;)

Is money an issue?

Do you have any hobbies? Disney has many "behind the scenes" tours that are wonderful. My favorite is DiveQuest, which is SCUBA diving in the Living Seas in EPCOT.

A champagne fireworks cruise at EPCOT is wonderful from what I have heard.

Dinner in Cinderella's Castle is always nice.

OK, I'm going to have to think a little more......

Not especially romantic but DH and I love Jellyrolls.

For dinner:

California Grill (Make reservations so that they coincide with the fireworks. Even if you aren't sitting on the MK side of the restaurant, they CM will let you know when they are about to start so that you can take your wine and stand on the other side to watch.)

Portobello Yacht Club (Although we haven't been there in quite a few years, it used to be our favorite restaurant before the kids were born. It's nice to sit outside on the lagoon on a nice night.

Rose and Crown (Is that the name? Anyway, we have sat outside with a later reservation and caught Illuminations while we were eating.)

Can you tell I love good food and good wine?

Corny, but we love floating around Castaway Creek holding onto each other's inner tubes at TL. We like behind the scenes tours--just did KTTK. We use vouchers, and split a great meal (steak and lobster) at the AK Rainforest.

Some of the romance is just being in WDW together. We have fun on the monorail, ferries, and watching all those poor parents of tired kids (the been there, done that feeling)

We had a great dinner at the Crystal Palace and love getting autographs at character meals.

We also do e-nights, and snuggle on Splash Mountain!

One of our favorites is walking from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness.

You'll find lots of things I'm sure.

We love the boat rides. If you can time it right, you can take the boat ride from FW to the Magic Kingdom during fireworks time!

We always liked the boat ride up the Sassagoula River from PO to DD too. I'm not sure if that boat runs anymore though. Does anyone else know for sure?

How about a dinner at O'hana's (in the Poly), if you time it right you can see the fireworks from the MK out of the windows (they dim the lights and play the music...I looooove it!), ask for a window seat. Then after eating, you can go down to their beach and either sit in the chairs there or find a swing right on the beach. You have a great view if the castle changing colors and the Contemporary. How much more romantic can you get? :p

My DH and I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for our honeymoon. We reserved one of their fireworks cruises, and it was awesome. The captain had champagne and snacks for us even though we didn't order them, and we got to stay out an extra 30 minutes to cruise around the light parade.

We also had dinner at Narcoosee's (Grand Floridian) and Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge) and both times they sat us in a secluded part of the restaurant with a bit of asking. Keep in mind that we went the week before Memorial Day, so the crowds were not huge anyway.

I also suggest a late night swim. All the kids have gone to bed, and you're likely to have the pool all to yourself. A late night stroll along any of the beaches also proved to be relaxing.

I hope you have a blast!

The carriage ride at Ft Wilderness is very nice. Only 30 minutes, but private. You can order champagne or other refreshments in advance.

We also watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the roof of the Contemporary Resort. Go to the restaurant on the top level and there is a door out to a walkway on the roof. There will be a lot of people, but the view is spectacular! We got there 30 minutes before the fireworks and were able to spend some quiet time together.

Victoria & Alberts is a fantasic, 5 star restaurant in The Grand Floridian. Strongly recommended for a romantic dinner. Be sure to inform them of any special events. They gave my wife and I a nice chocolate cake (yes, a whole cake) for us to carry back to our room because we were on our honeymoon.

Dress up, get the early seating, buy the wine package, then go into the MK after dinner. You'll be "happy" from the food and wine, and the park masses will look at you funny cause you'll have your nice duds on and will be acting strangely happy. :)
