There are 10 of us in our party, and I made my first Character Meal reservation today at Crystal Palace. I was all excited only to be shot down when they told me that they don't have tables that big, that I need to reserve a table for 6 and a table for 4. Isn't this one of the points to make a reservation? Are we going to have problems at all the restaurants that we make reservations for?

this is common in most restaurants, they will require you to reserve 2 tables and then they will do there best to seat you at 2 tables together.....there just isn't the room to have large tables in the restaurants :)

Right. It's not that there are no tables for ten left; it's that there are no tables for ten, period.

In the reservation system.

Physically, in most restaurants table CAN be moved. It's entirely possible (but not 100% guaranteed) that Crystal Palace will be able to move several tables together for you.

I had no problem making a ressie for 10 at Chef Mickeys.....They said there was one table left for 10 my whole week and we took it. I think those tables are limited. Take the split ressie, and keep calling back ( espicially at the 45 day mark from your trip!):goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We went in 2007 with a crowd, we were a party of 14. We stayed for 8 days and I made at least one, sometimes two reservations for each day. In some restaurants we had three tables reserved. We were seated next to each other at every restaurant. The tables at Disney are close enough together that it really isn't a problem.
Just make sure you check in 10 to 15 minutes before each reservation so that they have time to arrange two tables together.

We often see CM pushing two or three tables together, they are used to it.
There are a few locations where the tables are not moveable or the seating is such that 10 people would not fit, but those are few.

Check in a bit early so they have an opportunity to hold two tables as they become free and not hold up your ADR time as much. We've seen this often at CP. Not to worry, they will try to accomodate.
