Welp!! I just went to print my boarding passes for my Song flight tomorrow morning, and my DS5 can't be checked in online, must check in at airport!! Must be that extra screening "stuff", but he's 5 and he's flown before, so why he would be picked for extra screening is beyond me!

Oh,well, hopefully it won't take too long, and then we'll be on our way!!

My ? is, can he check in curbside, or do we have to go to the main counter?

alecam--I did not try online checkin with Song this past Feb, but DS (age 7YO) got dinged for extra security on both legs of our trip (BOS-RSW and back again). We did curbside checking, and the printer spit out his boarding pass with the SSSS on it. We got pulled aside by TSA at the security point, and it was actually fine, the agents could not have been nicer, and I stayed with DS the whole time.

Oh--one other thing, the TSA agents at both airports were a bit taken aback that DS was the one flagged, especially since he's only 7, but we purchased tickets online, and there is NO WAY the computer could have known he was only 7, since we did not purchase a child fare ticket. Their only guess was that his name might be 'similar' to someone on a 'no fly list'. (It's a Gaelic name).

My only advice is to explain it to your little one, and then not make a big deal. Our TSA agent even made an appropriate fuss over DS's gameboy.....

Many times this happens. The basically need to see some ID with the person to make sure they are who they say they are. In your case, the adults will show ID and vouch for the child. I would assume you would have to go to the counter, but check curbside first to see if they can do it.
