My ees are killin me!!what do i do? i want to keep my contacts, but i dont want my eyes to leave me!1 I would like advece pleeeease :cool1:

I have contacts and the first time I got them at 12 they really hurt my eyes and they were hard to get in and out!!! But after a few days after I continuasly (SP) put the eye drops in them I just forgot they were there... make sure you keep plenty of eye drops on them, and if that doesn't work you might just not have the right type of contact for your eyes. Hopefully it works out ( oh ya and don't rub them that will mess up the contacts and make everything worse ) When they hurt or feel dry I just try to remember how miserable I was with glasses!!!!

Hope everything works out :teeth:

I've had contacts for 5 years now, since I was 12. I had the same problem. Your eyes are probably just not used to having contacts in them yet. Just give it time, you'll get used to them. Until then, I agree with BabyPiglet.......use eyedrops, they really do relieve dry eyes! But if they're really bothering you, definitely take them out. Especially if you're at home, where no one will see you anyway. It will take your eyes time to be able to wear contacts for long periods of time. Besides, you will have to wear your glasses once in a while when you're having contact problems!

Excactly :)

Well I have had contacts for about a year and a half and I love them!!!! I took me a little while to get used to get used to them, so I just wore them gradually ex. the first day 5 hours, then 6, then 7, etc.
and that really worked for me
if you just got them then I'd say no worries and just wait a little bit cuz they are so much more better than glasses!!!!

- Never mix them up.
- Don't touch them with your hands.
- Wash your hands before you take them in/out.
- Use drops.
- Saturate them in solution.

Those are some simple tips. I've had contacts since I was 12 (2 years). Just always do those steps above. For the first couple of days, do what the eyedoctor tells you. I believe I first had to wear them for two hours and take them out, then the next day for 5 hours, then for 7 hours, finally, as much as I wanted. It takes some time to get used to them.

when my contacts hurt, its sometimes because theyre inside out (i have the soft kind)

good luck! :goodvibes

i also got contacts a few years ago, and i couldn't live w/o them. i just recently got glasses so i could take my contacts out after i got home from school ( so my contacts wouldn't dry up and bother my eyes, i can't use eye drops). but everything is so much clearer and crisper w/ the contacts. is this normal?

anyway, always wash your hands before "handling" your contacts and be very clean. carry around some extra solution and a case in case something gets in your eye and you have to take your contact out.

maybe your eyes just have to get used to the contacts, so i would wait awhile and see how they feel. try what meeshheartsdisney217 said about putting them in for a certain amount of hours each day and gradually working up to, oh i don't know, 14 hours?
hope this helps! :)

i agree with what everyone said. i got contacts about a year ago and it was really hard at the begining to put them in and take them out. i also started with 5 hours the first day and moved up an hour or two every day after that until i could wear them the whole day. its hard getting used to them at first, but soon, you wont notice them and youll be able to put them in and take them out really quickly. and as a side note, daisymae26, i agree with you. when you have contacts in, everything seems much clearer than with glasses on.

O_O.

Contacts freak me out so bad.
I love glasses.
Everyone seems to have good advice though, so good luck ;)

Just got my contacts 5 months ago and the 1st pair I got was to dry so my eye dr gave me a wetter pair and they work great! It does take time for your eyes to adjust to them but if they are not better in a week or so, see you dr for other options. Hope this helps!

thanks you guyss (and girls) They dont hurtas much and like someone said, ill try to take some solution with me wherever i go. i think the gradually increasing time will work too i onluy kept them in like 3hours the other day cuz they hurt but today ill leave em in for 5 then 6 ,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14 then tadaa! (i guess)

Well, thanks! :earsboy:

I used to have glasses and they kept faaling off when i looked down so in school they would fall a lot!! :teacher:
