I just got back...

... From my last band concert at my middle school. Ever. It was amazing. Everyone was actually well behaved. And my band director didn't flip, like he normally does. But I realized something

I was first chair. Okay, okay. I know, I say that a lot.
But I remember, when I was in sixth grade, in the larger band (we have two bands, a 6th grade band, and a 7th-8th grade band- larger band), I was pretty much in the back row. I remember looking at the 8th grader that was first chair, and saying to myself, "One day, I'm going to be like her."

Tonight, I realized I was just like her. Pretty much, I accomplished my dream. (Yes, I know. It's a dorky one.)

So. Dreams and goals.

Wow Jaimie! That's so cool! And I really hope you'll continue playing the clarinet in High School. I just had my first band concert as a freshman a couple of weeks ago. I wish it wasn't over!

Hm, my goal would be, to keep improving my trumpet skills.
This year, I succeeded. I got first chair. First Chair for a freshmen is pretty impressive for me, even though most of the upperclassmen are in period two... which is wind ensamble [which I am going to next year!]

Thank you. The highschool that I'm going to next year doesn't offer band (legasp), but this other high school will let me be in their band. xD Of course, me being the band geek that I am, could never give it up.

i kinda wanna do band next year. but i also wanna take a SH. so we're trying it out beginning of the semester and seeing how it's gonna go.

this week in band has been actually decent. our teacher hasn't yelled at us and our tour is in aboutu a week and a half. actually two weeks from today! superrr excited.


and that means MS is coming to an end....

I know how you feel. The kids in my band class were like "It's over! It's finally over! Now we have competition, and we're DONE!"

That makes me excited, yet, sad. I mean, this year went by too fast. But I'll have this memory forever, you know? Okay. enough ranting.

The point is, make the best of it.
