I got back from my Wonder"ful cruise on Sunday. I stayed at the Carribean Beach - Martinique. I traveled with my two daughters aged 5 and 10. Myself 35 and my father. We stayed in cabin number 2610. We were upgraded from a cat. 11 to a cat. 9. My girls loved the clubs. I didnt care much for Nassau, but from I hear you really need to do an excursion there. We all loved Castaway Cay. The movies were great. The shows were awsome. We had the early seating for dinner, which meant that we had to be up before the crack of dawn for our last breakfast, it was at 6:30 am. Also we did the new princess breakfast in Epcot. The food was awful. I put this on my comment card and the chef called me at my hotel and asked was exactly was I disappointed with and apoligized frequently then offered us breakfast, lunch or dinner on him. We already had plans for the following day so I didnt take him up on his offer. :p

Hi We're leaving on our first land & sea in three weeks, I have done most of my research already but have a few questions -

- Did you buy the transfers? If so, how long did you have to wait at the airport when you arrived before they took you to Disney World? How long does it take to get from WDW to the port? And finally, what happens to your luggage when you disembark, my TA says I have to claim it at the Orlando airport and then check it in myself with my flight home, I thought the transfers took care of that for me. (Would never have bought the &)(*&^@# things if I thought I was still gonna have to carry my own luggage).

Also, how's the weather? Still unbearably hot or getting bearable?

Thanks!

Denise

Finally, someone who stayed in the same room we will be staying in next May! Tell me how the room was, quiet/ good location/ is there a pulldown bed in the room?(their are 4 of us). Anything you can tell me would be helpful. Thanks very much! p.s. we are also staying at c.b.r.

Sorry, but I didnt buy the transfers nor did I get the insurance. I used Yourride.net and Rabbit was my driver. It turned out to be cheaper than buying the transfers and dealing with the luggage ourselves really wasnt that bad. Rabbit was there right on time on each leg of our transportation. We were able to make a stop at the market to pick up some water and snacks. And he also had Shrek playing on the DVD when we got in.

And yes it was hot. What we did was pack a zip-lock bag full of ice, put a couple of wash clothes in there and then wrapped it in a hand towel. When it got unbearable we just cooled ourselves off with the rags. It was a nice relief. It only rained once and that was after 6 on our last day. We had just left our last park so it wasnt that bad. The weather on the cruise was great.

Yes, there is a pull down bed in the room. My girls fought over who was going to sleep there so they had to take turns. There is a couch that converts to a single bed right under the pull down bed. The Queen bed is actually two twin beds put together. The room was a nice size. It really is only used to sleep and shower. My dad sometimes would get tired and spend more time in it but it was a nice size. The one bathroom has just a sink and toliet. My girls were actually kind os scared of the toilet because it is really LOUD!!!! The other bathroom has just a bath/shower and a sink. I wasnt really bothered by the noise. I could barely hear anything. We could barely feel the ship moving. I had to take my kids to the porthole to prove to them that we were really moving. The room at the CBR was actually smaller than I expected but all in all I loved where we were staying. I asked to stay near the food court, because I didnt want to have to take the bus back and forth and that was a very smart choice.

I hope this helps :Pinkbounc

Hi Denise,

We purchased transfers on our land and sea. We flew into MCO the night before and stayed at the Marriott. It took a short while to collect our luggage and get the shuttle, but everything went smoothly.

The next day, we caught the shuttle back to the airport. They dropped us off right at the Disney bus area. Our luggage was loaded onto the bus for us. We only waited about 10 minutes to get on the bus, and then another 15 or so while we waited for other passengers. Then, off to WDW (we stayed at the Poly).

On Thursday, we were told to have our luggage outside our Poly door by 8:30 (I think. . .it might have been earlier). That took a little coordination but DH is an expert packer and planner so we had everything we needed for the day in a carry-on. We then caught a bus to the AK and stayed there for a few hours. At about 12:30, we caught the DCL bus outside AK to the port. Our luggage showed up in our stateroom about 5:00. No problems.

The night before disembarkment, we had to have our luggage outside our door by 11:30 p.m. (I think). If memory serves, we were left tags that instructed us where to find our luggage. We had no problems getting it. We rolled our luggage out to the bus and it was loaded, and then uloaded when we arrived at MCO, for us. Easy.

We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for our "night before" in January, but are thinking about the airport Hyatt in '04. That takes the initial shuttle out of the mix and might make things even easier.

I hope that helps.
