I just got back from DL -- Attendance update!!

What are crowds like in the middle of January? Is that a good time to go both crowd-wise and also weather-wise?

One of the best times of the year to go, attendance wise. As far as weather -- It's southern California!!! Have a great trip!

Attendance wise is really good but some of the attractions will be closed for tear down of the holiday overlay- Haunted Mansion and IASW- depending on the exact dates that you go

As others have said, crowds will be light (except MLK weekend) and weather is generally decent but somewhat hit or miss. It is off-season and so be aware of the downsides to visiting in off-season. See "What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889
