And boy am I tired!!

We had a ball.... Did MGM, Epcot, USF and MK, Michael had his birthday lunch at HARD ROCK Cafe (thanks JR!) and chose Universal for the only park he wanted to go to on his birthday... can you BELIEVE that???

It was FREEZING in Orlando! I have NEVER worn a winter coat in Florida before but boy was I glad I had one... WOoooooo!

Will explain more later but my cats are MAD at me....

It's wonderful to hear that you had a good time!

I thought it had warmed up a bit there! It was lit freezing when we were there last week, esp New Year's Eve. We were wearing hats and gloves in addition to our winter jackets!! (in the 20 at night)

No joke, the highest temp I saw the whole week was 66, and that was the day before we left, Saturday. NOT water ride temperature at all...

We just got back too. We did go on the water rides but used ponchos and sat in the least wet seats. We didn't want to miss a thing.

I am really sorry it was so cold. I cannot handle even cool and I sympathize with you completely. I am sorry the leis didn't work to keep you warm.

Now when you join us in March it will be nice and warm.

Hey, you guys didn't have to apologize for the cold, I'm a POLAR BEAR by nature so I was THRILLED.

The weather was great before I left though, the forecast was for lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s which is the norm for this time of year.

No, Kevin, this time I did NOT see my idol, Spidey. My son chose Universal for his birthday and though I wanted to go to IOA after lunch my sister, , who came fussing and complaining about EVERYTHING, wanted to go back to the hotel.

By the way we stayed at the Holiday Inn Family Suites, which is close to Disney. Incredible Hotel! It's less than a year old and was hands down the best hotel I've EVER stayed at in Orlando. Too bad it's not closer to USF.

By the way the crowds were incredibly light and it was a Friday! MIB was a walk on and so was BTTF. 10 mins was the average wait time. It was like a dream!

I agree with Dave O, though, I'd rather be freezing in Orlando than warm at work!

HIFS is absolutely the best hotel offsite in the disney area. And the rates are incredible (for FL Residence..don't know about everyone else). Breakfast is good too! 800 all 'themed' "custom" suites. To be honest, I like it better than the onsights...much better.

On the opposite end of town Sheraton Studio Hotel is the only offsite hotel I would do, Only on the top 3 club floors though, but still prefer onsight.

Portofino wins hands down, will be checking out HRH in a few weeks for a night.

So happy to hear you and Michael had a great time!Despite the cold! I understand that being in Orlando and not seeing Spidey is against the law though! I am sure you may suffer stiff penalties So you had your sister along with you on this trip? Dont ya hate when your plans get sidetracked?? Same thing happened to me a few years ago with my sister. She whined the whole trip! Oh well you have many more solo trips with Michael, doing things your way, to look forward to Great to have you back!
