Today I was accepted to Disney's College Program:

I received my first choice role which is Disney Desk. From the role description and my understanding, it's not a traditional College Program role. I won't be working in the parks or hotels. My offer letter says that I'll be working independently and remotely in Good Neighbor hotels, airports, shopping centers, etc. I'll be manning the "Disney Desk", so answering guests' questions about the resort, selling them tickets, talking to them about attractions and shows, and basically being a representative for DLR in the surrounding area.

I couldn't be happier! This is an amazing opportunity. I'll be living with other College Program students/CMs, which should be a lot of fun too. I'm excited to move work locations all the time and help plan peoples' vacations. I'll be able to use the experience that I've had here on the DIS to help out tons of guests!

Congratulations!!! I hope you write about your experiences. When do you start?

Wow, Stephen! Congratulations. :) I bet you'll be talking to some of our Dreams Unlimited agents, too, while you are working. If you meet Deja tell her Mary Jo says "HEY" and give her a hug for me.

I'm so happy for you!

August 20th, which is nice because I will have the whole summer to relax, maybe work at a summer camp and get some extra money. I definitely plan on blogging and always updating my DIS friends. :cool1:

That's awesome ~ Congrats!! :cool1:
I wonder if my SIL did your phone interview...

Thank you! I move down to Anaheim in exactly 2 weeks!

I can't wait!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1: :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I move in tomorrow! I am so excited, I think I might lose my mind. It's gonna be hard sleeping tonight. :yay:

Disney Desk huh? Saw that at the Hilton Anaheim; more like a podium than a desk. Seemed like a lot of standing around waiting for someone to ask a question or buy a ticket. But it is a job and you do get a full cast member nametag.

I've gone through all of Disney's overall training and today is my first day training at a Desk. I'll be at like 6 different hotels over the next week or so.

Where's your Disney kindness? I am surprised and saddened :mad:you chose to write this dampening comment to someone who has been excited about this program all year and is just beginning their new position.

Congratulations!!! Your excitement, enthusiasm, knowledge, sense of humor and creativity will be a great asset to you in this position! I love your typical disneyland day blog--it's brilliant!
