I just got a 30% off pin code for DL in my e-mail

DH got one in the mail today as well but doubt we'll use it as our trips are not within their time frames and the only other time is december and we'll be in WDW. Grr...I finally get one after all these trips and years of being registered and can't use it. :(

I think they are skipping me this time since I got one last year and used it! I haven't even gotten one addressed to my friend yet!:rotfl: I would probably use it to book a room for December - just in case I can't renew my AP when it expires later in the year - so I would have a discounted room set aside for DLR at Christmastime. Then if I did renew my AP, I would switch to the cheaper AP rates!!;)

In any case, it is probably all a moot point because Disney Destinations is ignoring me and not sending me a PIN offer! Drat!

I just got one in the mail as well, but after looking at the dates there is no way we are going to be able to use it, darn!!! All the dates are during school and since I pulled my son out for a week in Sept to do free dining at WDW, I probably shouldn't do it again. We had actually been contemplating a June trip to DL, so when this came in the mail I got very excited until I saw the dates.

Yes, if the special AP rate becomes available and they have rooms, then you can have the nightly rate modified - I've done this a half a dozen times.

You can change the rate, but can you cancel the reservation entirely without penalty? I received one of the emails and I would like to use it for a December trip, but I won't know for certain if I can make the December trip by the time the March booking deadline arrives. If I can cancel without penalty, I will certainly take advantage of my good fortune in receiving one of these pin offers!

There's no penalty as long as you cancel before mandated deadline (2-3 days before arrival I believe). Of course now, you have to pay one night's deposit when you make the ressie which will be refunded weeks later if and when when you cancel.

This is how the room confirmation reads: Cancel/Change Policy: Notification of cancellation or change must be received at least 5 days prior to your arrival date Your deposit of one night plus tax is nonrefundable in the event of a cancellation 4 days or less prior to arrival.
We booked two rooms at the Disneyland Hotel; the room rate was $198.35 per night tax and fees included...jc

The funny thing about this offer is I got mine literally while on the phone with reservations. How about that for timing? I was on the home phone on hold and my phone pinged that i had an email and when I opened it there was the pin deal... Makes me wonder whos watching you know??

So today I checked my mail and I noticed a white postcard with the Paradise Pier Hotel logo on it in my mailbox. Excited, I thought, "They are sending me a PIN code! My PIN code offer has arrived!" I even thought, "Paradise Pier is inviting me back for a discounted stay!" No such luck. Oh, it is a postcard from PPH, all right, but it was telling me I had been chosen to take part in a survey about PPH and my overall Disneyland Resort experience. So I had to log on to the survey website and use the password they assigned me and then took the lengthy survey. Of course, I had plenty to say about PPH based on my bad October 2008 stay there (see my Trip Report for those details), but my December trip was perfectly fine, so I let them know that too. It was about a 10 or 15-minute survey that had some multiple choice options as well as some sections where I had to explain my answers in detail.

Now, maybe they will send me a darn PIN code discount offer for my efforts!!;) That PIN offer is still not showing up in my mail or e-mail, darn it. I assume it comes from Disney Destinations, right? I haven't gotten anything from Disney destinations in a while.

Aha! Update to the last post I just did a few minutes ago ^^. As soon as I finished posting and went back to my e-mail - I mean, that very second - I saw an e-mail from Disney Destinations!! I was thrilled, but sure enough, I got a PIN code, and it was NOT like the one all the rest of you have gotten!! MY PIN code offer (and yes, this one was addressed to my friend's name at my e-mail account again:rolleyes1 ) was not for "30% off" the hotels. And it didn't stretch all the way to December 17. In fact, my PIN code offer has to be used by May 29th and no later!!! The rates for the hotels are listed on the e-mail. $149 for PPH, $229 for GCH and, I think, $169 for DLH. So I guess that still works out to be about 30% off the regular seasonal rates, and it is also similar to what the promo rates are on the DLR website right now, but it doesn't say that it is 30% off, and mine has the deadline of May 29. Not that I have to book by May 29th. I have to actually stay at the DLR hotel of choice by May 29th.

So I am not sure if this is something I would have gotten anyway, had I not just filled out that long survey online, or if it was something that was distributed to me because I took the survey, but in any case, I can't use it because it doesn't last past May. They had better come up with some good AP rates for December!

Hey I just got that same email!

PPH from 149, DLH from 169, GCH from 229. Through 5/29, with Feb 13 and 14 blocked, as well as March 19-April 18.

Ooh interesting...says:

Enjoy early morning entry into Disneyland® Park-One Magic Morning admission into select attractions in Fantasyland before the Park opens to the general public! **

and the ** explains
**Magic Morning allows admission into selected attractions at Disneyland® Park before the park opens to the public on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. Based on availability and subject to restrictions. Applicable days and times of operation and all other elements including, but not limited to, operation of attractions, entertainment, stores and restaurants and appearances of Characters may vary and are subject to change without notice.

And THAT is as close as I have EVER seen them come to advertising MMs on the appropriate days during your stay, other than on the paper you get at check-in.

I've actually gotten quite a few WDW PIN codes, despite never having gone there (I do plan out trips online and save them in my account quite often). And I've gotten a few really BAD DLR PINs (like a code specifically to stay at the Jolly Roger), but this is a good one! Perhaps not something I can use, but good all the same.

Oh and I didn't do anything to get it. In fact I forgot to do a Disney survey...really should go back and do that now.

I knew it was time for me to get another Disney Destinations e-mail any day now because they hadn't sent one in a while. But I assumed/hoped I would get the one that everyone else on this thread is getting for 30% off all the way up until December. The reason that was important to me is just in case I can't renew my AP when it expires this year and still want a discounted December hotel room. It seems, Molly, that you and I got PIN offers that were in some ways slightly better rates but more limited in time frame than what everyone else got in their PIN offers. Then again, what we got offered is basically not much better than what is being advertised on the DLR website as their special offers (well, our PPH offer is a few bucks cheaper, but otherwise, more or less the same, give or take), EXCEPT for that our offers extend to May 29 and not the February date shown on the website. Maybe because we both just used our nifty AP8 rates to stay at PPH, they figure we will do that again in December and we don't need the 30% off deal. Or maybe they will send out more PIN offers in the summer, as they did last year, and those will cover the rest of the year. Oh well. I wish I could use this offer before May 29, but don't think I will be able to.

Molly, did you get the same PPH postcard in the mail with the survey on it about your recent stay?

Definitely possible.

I never get anything in the mail from Disney, except for DVC stuff trying to get me to buy. I think that's b/c we adored the guide who did our presentation, and Toocherie has him as a guide and I think she mentions us to him. :goodvibes Hi Toocherie!

Sherry, do you think there's any way you could join the ladies only trip in early March?

Oh duh, the survey I went off to do after posting last night...it was about the Muppet Experiment!

Well, I have been silently brainstorming on that too, as I was for the January 4 mini-meet that I was not able to attend! Unfortunately, because of my precarious and iffy money/job situation, I have to take everything day by day. There are actually a couple of other non-Disney things that have come up that I have to scrape together money for, and those are sort of timely. So I wouldn't be able to jump onto the Ladies Only thread right now and tell everyone that I am going for sure and sign me up for this tour or that meal or whatever. I would have to do more of a last-minute drop-in, which may end up excluding me from certain group activities that book up, but at least I may be able to MEET some of you guys! So I am playing it by ear, but I am HOPING to be able to jump aboard the Ladies Only trip, because it looks like it will be a blast!

It seems that Disney just doesn't care whether my family comes back this summer! I didn't get a PIN for WDW or DL!

Heck, I even request the 2009 planning video, mainly in hopes of getting a PIN.

The only time I've gotten one was last spring about 2 months after I'd paid our trip off...and the PIN wasn't good for our dates.

Come on, Disney! How bad do you want visitors this year? Give me a good reason to splurge!

You might want to hop into the thread just a little bit, perhaps network with anyone who might live in the LA area, perhaps you could figure out a ride down with someone. Then that would make it more possible for you to come. :)

FWIW, the prices weren't really any better than the AP rates, I just was happy to get a useful PIN from DLR. :)

I didn't get a PIN yet, but I have a thought. Could the PIN be sent out to those who have gone recently but not have anything reserved for this year yet?

Doubtful. I went in dec but already had GCH booked for April. I honestly just think it's completely random :goodvibes
