I just wanted to tell everyone that I just got an e-mail pin code for 30% off room rates Disneyland Hotels in my email.

The offer is good for the following dates:

Jan 4 - Feb 19
Feb 22 - Mar 12
April 26 - May 29
Aug 30 - Oct 2
Nov 1 - Nov 19
Dec 1 - Dec 17

I have never seen a pin code for Disneyland before (doesn't mean they don't exist, I've just never gotten one) I did just recently get a free dining pin code for Disney World, so I'm surprised they sent me one for Disneyland.

I got mine two days ago in the mail. But from what I can tell the AP8 rate, if you have an AP, is still a better deal?

I have been on the phone with DLR all day. I asked about the code and was told they are being mailed out. She never said e-mail also as she did say you HAVE to bring the postcard at check in. She asked where I live and said she has gotten some people from hawaii yesterday who got them I have not but heres to luck. Another thing she said they are getting lots of calls for the start of march so things are booking fast before spring break. It also seems that there may not be a AP promo rate before spring break when the FEB one ends per the AP reservation department when you call reservations and opt1`

Yes I was on hold for 30+ min just to see what kind of discount this would be. She could not tell me if there would be a AP rate for March. The 30% off code should be in your email. They are advertising it on Disney.com. Anyway the rate she quoted me for this promo was $590.00 more than the AP rate I was quoted for Feb. I don't know if she messed something up or what but you can bet that I wont pay that much more.:headache: So not only did I waste 30 min on my cell phone but she was very stressed from all the calls and told me so. No thanks

Oooh - lucky! The only codes and special offers I seem to get are for WDW and we are not going there this year!! I want a PIN code for Disneyland too (but last time they sent out the PIN codes I was told it was US only, so no for Canada :sad2:)

Well, I just got the code in my email.

Call again they JUST extended the AP8. It just happend a couple hours ago, and is listed on the AP calendar now granted I had to be on long distance for 2 hours for them to manually get it in their comps but I got it. My phone bill will hate me as I think I have atleast been on the phone for 4 hours throughout the day today. Oh they said surprisingly they getting hit heavy for before spring break also. I hope thats not a bad crowds omen.

Lostgirlz,
Right after I posted my response I went to Disney.com and there it was, so I called back waited half hour then through them talking to a supervisor they hung up on me then I called them back and waited another half hour and the very sweet lady had no idea what was going on but tried to help me out.She did end up speaking with the supervisor and she called me back and had the reservations all set up.;) So long story short it took a couple of hours on cell phone, this bill I cant wait to see:)

Wait times for reservations has been bad last couple of days. I had to wait for a suprivisor to clear it also. I will do the PS bookings on my home phone, and the long wait ones during free weekends lol

 That would just work out with my planned November stay!

Of course nothing in the e-mail account for me. I just hope I get a postcard and it gets overseas before everything is fully booked. But if it's US only I'm out of luck anyway.

EDIT: Oh charming. I can't even access disney.com anymore, the site keeps throwing me back to Disney International. I'm not amused.

Also, if I were to book the 30% off now and then a better AP rate becomes available later, am I able to change the res. with out penalty to the cheaper rate? TIA!

My friend got this and they allowed her to change our reservations (good for 2 rooms!) in 3 days! saved us each $250 :cheer2: I was amazed they let us change an existing reservation..now we are looking to also go on my birthday (labor day weekend) if it isn't blacked out (maybe do the 5K :scared1: )
I wonder how they decide who gets these. My friend goes fairly regularly, but so do I and I had paid for three rooms in May so you'd think they'd see me as a good prospect..but nooooo.. They must be hurting though..the Grand usually books up. I've been kicking around the idea of getting annual passes (if you go twice in a year, does it tend to save money?)

Anyone know which is more economical... the AP rate or the 30% off special?

I ran the pin discount numbers against the two AP8 ressies I have for DLH using the DL website. The AP8 rate was about 25-30% cheaper than the pin rate.

Yes, if the special AP rate becomes available and they have rooms, then you can have the nightly rate modified - I've done this a half a dozen times.

We got one in the mail yesterday. Funny thing is it came addressed to DH. His name is only on our trip information, but has never registered with Disney or anything. We booked through DU. But booked at DoubleTree Suites, I am going to atleast check if we would get the same rate at a DLR hotel, but will have to check if we can change without penalty. Otherwise, probabaly won't get to use.

I'm sorry..what is an AP8? Annual Pass..what?

The same thing happened to me, sort of. At least your DH lives in your house so you can use his PIN Code offer. Last year, when the 2008 Pin offer was being circulated in the summer, mine came to MY e-mail address (not even my home address) but had my friend's name on it. We don't live together. We live in two separate counties. She most certainly does not use my e-mail address and never has!!! I wouldn't have been worried about it except for the fact that Disney was being very specific about who could use the PIN offer, and for a minute it was sounding like I wouldn't be able to use the offer that was e-mailed to ME because they screwed up and put my friend's name on it! That was their mistake. See, back in 2007 I had booked a package through the WDTC and the person taking the reservation info had accidentally put my friend's name as being the main name on the reservation, not as being MY guest (even though I was the one who booked the room/package!). It was a simple issue of keying the info into the wrong field. Whenever I have gone through Central Reservations there has not been this problem, but the WDTC uses a slightly different screen/database than what Central uses.

So I called WDTC last year and asked them to remove my friend's name from MY e-mail address because there is no guarantee that ALL of my DLR trips will include her, and they said there was no way to do that! They claimed to not be able to change existing info. Only when a new reservation is made through WDTC can they add in info to the appropriate fields. So I then called Central (with PIN Code in hand) and explained that WDTC had goofed - and can't correct the goof - and attached my friend to my e-mail. They checked their own database and saw ALL of my contact info in the system, but my friend's name as being the person living at my address. My name was nowhere in there and I had made/paid for all of the reservations!! They said that as long as I am at the address and phone number associated with the PIN offer in their system, they would allow me to use the PIN offer even though it had a different name on it, and they would just look at it as though my friend and I are in the same family, at the same address (even though we are not)!!!! Apparently there was no way to get my friend's name removed from my e-mail address because I continue to get e-mails addressed to her! And again, I can't say for sure that I will always be with her at DLR. I may go alone or with other people. She doesn't book the hotels so the PIN offer would be wasted on her, or wasted in general if they stop allowing me to use the PIN offers I get in my e-mail!

Even though I was pretty much planning to bring my friend with me anyway on my October 2008 trip, I was kind of forced to bring her at that point because the Central CM told me that they may need to see both of our IDs at check-in, along with the PIN code. I haven't booked anything through WDTC since then, only through Central, and I have NOT received this latest PIN offer. IF I get one, I am pretty sure my friend's name will be on it.

Same thing with us. I always book the trips and his name is only on the trip information. We've never actually booked a Disneyland trip through Disney but have booked WDW. We got the DL pin but not the WDW one.

Maybe there is some kind of mechanism in the selection process that defaults to 'man of the family' and sends out PINs to the resort closest to you.

Either way, it's great timing since we were planning a trip anyway for this coming November or December.
