I just found a newborn deer in my yard - Advice?

Yeah, and if you bring them in and bottle feed them, they'll likely have to live in captivity their whole life. And most zoos have enough deer, and they're so big and boundy they'd be almost impossible to keep, even on a farm.

Fun story: We were at WDW and were turning off Osceola onto the off ramp there where it goes around behind Pop Century. There was a chain link-type fence there at the time bordering the back of Pop that I'm sure was at least 5ft tall. Maybe 6, hard to judge. I saw a male deer, in the middle of the day, cross the parkway, hit the grass and then leap that fence into the weeds behind Pop. He was huge and boy could he leap! Cleared it with room to spare.
They can jump way higher that you would expect. There are a lot of deer in my area and we have a ton of stone walls, cow fences, and thick brush. They can leap over all of it so easily.

i miss the baby deer we had one year in particular-a set of twins. mama dear would bring them into our yard every afternoon but she didn't take off and leave them-mama would lead them to the shallow portion of our pond that has a nice shaded grassy area. mama would lay down on the grass and those twins would splash and chase each other like mad while mama relaxed. so much fun to sit on the deck and watch:love::love::love:

no baby deer so far this year but yesterday we saw a turkey hen taking a dust bath in the back yard after which she walked over to our wild roses and signaled 5 or 6 baby turkey chicks to come out and follow her.
