I just did a brave and utterly stupid thing

I resigned from my job today with no other job lined up. Can I get a prayer or two?

Yeah, I tried to beat the bully boss through legal channels and it failed. I couldn't get anyone to help me resolve the matter. Now I'm looking to find work as a temp until I can get something more steady.

My mom did this as well last October. She was a completley burnt out social worker who just did not have anymore to give. Combine that with an evil boss and it was her breaking point. She was terrified, thought her and my dad couldn't make it without her working, etc, etc. Not only are they making it just fine but she is much happier! It was quite a load off and she came to realize how much it was affecting every aspect of her life.

It will work itself out.

Thanks guys!! I feel really good but I'm seriously relying on faith and footwork to get my next job. At least my WDW trip is in a couple of weeks so I feel great about that.

I did this once after I took a new job I ended up hating. I was very upset about it, since I had never quit a job without having another job lined up, but I just couldn't take another day at that place. I worked as a temp for about six months until I found another job. It will work out for you. You must feel relieved that you no longer have the stress of having to deal with a bad situation every day.

I think thats why I posted all that drama on your thread. I saw someone making the same scary decision as I was and I just went overboard. And yes, since I have decided to do it, I really do feel much better. Ok, I'm not gonna cry. We're strong...it's just a job, right? I just hate those "no turning back" decisions. Heck, I even have trouble ordering from a menu. I'm so sorry.
I PROMISE, I'm not crazy...I'm a good person. I know I mean well anyway.
Good luck, we can even form a clique thread for people who have quit their job in this horrible market. I really thought I was the only one.

Exactly! And despite the economy, there are other GOOD jobs out there! My biggest fear though is finding another bully in the workplace. I wish I could just find a job managing a rock band and going on tour...why can't I have that job!
