I just changed to WL!

Due to a hefty overtime paycheck from June, I just changed my October reservation from CBR to WL! As we continue our quest to stay in all of the resorts by the time DD graduates from college, I hadn't expected to stay here for a few years, so I have not researched this one very well. Any advice is welcome! I have already added a dinner and a lunch dining reservation at WCC, but that is it! Is Artist Point worth the $$$ ?

Can we see any MK fireworks from there? Do they have surrey bikes and can they be ridden to Ft. Wilderness? We got a courtyard view. What does that mean and should I make any special requests?

We LOVE the WL.....
it's our second favorite WDW resort (after the GF).....

let's see....advice.....
when you check in you can see if there is a spot available to be the Flag Retreat family - or is it the flag raising family - i don't remember...
that's if you're into that sort of thing...we are, and it was very touching...made my heart burst and all that (i'm such a sap)..

i don't think they have surrey bikes, but i didn't pay attention.
They have regular bikes for rental. We rode them over to FW. It was a nice ride (and then rode around FW a bit and then back).

And we also rented little boats (those mice like boats), which was also fun.

While you can see the fireworks from some locations, it's not really a view that's worthwhile, in my opinion. As for views, pool/lake view is nice, but if it's much more expensive i would pass on it....we've had all the views, and they were all fine...

You will love WL....the place is awesome....

Ask for an inner courtyard view.....Some of the "courtyard"
rooms face the villas

WCC is great.....Artist Point is very good.....for 2TS...I'd rather go
to the Cali grill.....which is a nice boat ride away...
Don't remember about the surrey bikes....but there is a path
that connects the campground...

Spend some time exploring the lobby....go to all the floors....above lobby...
lots of nooks and crannies with some hidden treasures...
The pool is a lot of fun....really beautiful...
You can see the higher fireworks at the boat dock....and the electrical pageant passes
about 9:30.

You are going to absolutely love the WL. Definitely make a request for the Bear Face section. That's the inner courtyard view...other wise you might be looking toward the villas. That's also considered a courtyard view. I heard it was nice...but IMO, you just can't beat the inner courtyard view! We had a 6th floor view and it was wonderful. The 6th floor has the enclosed balcony which a lot of people don't like. We loved it because it provided more privacy inside the room. I would definitely request at least 3rd floor or up for the view. I can tell you how beautiful this resort is...but you really have to see it in person, pics don't do it justice, either! Your going to love it!
