:sad2:
Got a notice I need more screening from my mammogram I had on Tuesday.
I would think though if anything was brewing it would have shown on my PET scan last month, right? :confused3

Ugh! I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe they are just being extra cautious.

Have you met your yearly out of pocket YET??

The need to have further screening is a good thing. It could turn out to be either something or nothing. But, isn't it a good thing to find out what actually is happening?

Thankfully I get my care through the VA so my only out of pocket is prescriptions.

Of course, but I'm so tired of going to the Drs and they keep finding things. Just once I would love to go for a routing test and everything be fine. ;)

They called it an architectural distortion.

If it was the Big C, it would have shown on the PET. I'm sure it's just a precaution; there are all kinds of abnormalities that show on mammograms.

And having to go to the doctor often is a better alternative over never having to go again! Tests are so much better than surgeries and treatments.

Do you think it would it be worth it to call the Dr that did the PET and run this by him?

Just the other day, I noticed a thread you started about possibly moving to Orlando.. But over the past few weeks and months, I have also noticed that you have had quite a few health issues.. (I think there was one the other day about your heart or something?)

Anyhow, I'm wondering if you might be better off postponing any moves until your health is a little more stable - or at least all of the issues you've been experiencing have been diagnosed and dealt with.. If you move, you'll have to find new doctors; many will want the same tests repeated (they're so picky sometimes about having their "own"); records will have to be transferred; etc..

Just something to think about..

As for this particular issue, seems that lots and lots of people on the DIS are getting called back in lately, so maybe the doctors are just being extra cautious.. Try not to worry too much..:goodvibes

I know exactly what you mean C.Ann. The whole hassle of changing Drs stink. I'd be moving from Clearwater to Orlando, so about 1 1/2 hour drive. I figure if worse comes to worse and I do have to move while having any issues I would just do the drive. It's a straight shot so not a huge deal. I also get my care through the VA so I would think it would be easy enough for everything to be accessed by the VA over in Orlando.
I did call up north and they are sending my films down from my last mammo for comparison purposes.

After I went to the Drs this week (where I had a lung function test) she ordered me a script for albuterol. Just lovely.

I didn't realiize that you were moving within the same state.. That does make it somewhat easier..:thumbsup2 Hopefully when you relocate the specialists won't get all in a tizzy wanting the same tests repeated again..

Have you ever taken albuterol before? If not, don't be surprised if it makes you feel shakey and jittery.. It's one of the meds I have and I only use it if I absolutely have to..

Good luck with the re-test..
:goodvibes

You really are due for a break! I hope you can get the test and have your mind relieved soon!!!

I don't know if the issues have been resolved or not, but there were some major complaints about needing a better VA hospital in Orlando. It's been a while since I've been in Orlando, so I could be behind on the times.

But I'd look into it first, before moving all your records over. It might be worth that 90min drive to stay with your regular doctors. Just think, there's people that fly all over the country to receive good medical care, 90 minutes doesn't seem so bad.

 for you 4's! You do deserve and need a break! I hope the further tests show everything just fine. Thinking of you!

Oh believe me, I know. I always check places out ahead of time and if I am dis-satisfied then it's not somewhere I will go. If I do check it out and I'm not impressed then I will make the drive to my current Drs.
When it comes to my health, or other important matters, I do my best to find the best.

If I can't find good care in the VA system then I will go on my husbands insurance and just pay what I need too. Just because something is free doesn't mean I'll take advantage of it just because that's whats available. I love myself more then that and I'll do what I need to do regardless if it's something that may be inconvenient or something I don't like.
