Blink is doing a incentive you get 7500 points for the purchase at oneshare.com

I know they are expensive but they are giving 1/2 of their fee to the RED CROSS relief effort so that is $20.00 of the total.I got the MY First Share package for a total of 116.00 for my DS for Christmas they are also giving you a free stock with purchase I chose Planet Hollywood.

oh and I used my MyPoints M/C so I will get points for that also.

if anyone has been thinking of buying a share of Disney thru them now is the time.

Mal:bounce:

Mal,
I also bought a share today. I got an bonus mail through mypoints for sharebuilder, buy one share and get 1000 points. I am going to turn around and donate the points. Share builder only charges $3 per transaction, or you can pay $9 a month for unlimited transactions.

Mal,
That's what I was thinking. I only wanted to buy one share at first, just to be safe you know. But, I am honestly thinking about getting some more. I'm like you, I don't think it will possibly go down any further.

LOL I just answered this same post on the Community Board!! :)

I am also going to do this as well...we already own one share, so why not buy more!! :)

besides, the economy needs it!! :)

my husband is so excited about buying some disney stock,, but
we know absolutely nothing about investing or stock,, but do have
a few hundred that we wouldn't miss,, so which would be better,
buying stock like mal or buying stock @ sharebuilder,, are the stock
in frames worth more,, or just better looking:confused: thanks laurie

The stocks in frame are not worth more. If you are just looking to buy a share, and not looking for a present (for a child for example) you won't want the frame and all that. That is just window dressing. If you just want to own the stock, go for the $3 fee!

These are really good deals! Thanks for sharing :)

Now, how do I get someone to give ME a gift of framed disney stock? :D

Sharebuilder --you can buy a stock and pay 3 dollar fee for transaction. THis is for stock only. At oneshare, you can get the frame etc for extra money. (which is nice for a present)

Mal, You read my mind ~ LOL. I was going to post today about buying Oneshare but through SearchCactus where you get $5.00 and a free share. Your deal sounds better though :-). Unfortunately I had already bought my DS's share before I joined the rewards but he received it Saturday. I wish all of you could have seen his face when he unwrapped his gift. He said "Wow" with absolute Awe on his face "Now I own a piece of Disneyworld". It was the neatest gift possible. The certificate is gorgeous. Now we're waiting on his Pixar share with his grandparents bought him. One word of note, it takes quite a wihle sometimes for the certificates to come so ORDER EARLY. The Disney stock took 4 weeks and so far the Pixar stock is at 5. They tell you 4 - 8 weeks. :pinkbounc

It says 3 dollars per transaction and I am thinking you buy as many shares as you want in the transaction. I have not done it myself yet but thinking about it.

I am a true novice -

When you submit an order, do you get the stock for the current price or does it take a while to process the order?

I have the same question as OhMickey. If you order from Sharebuilder and they only place the order once a week, I guess you have to just be prepared to pay whatever the price is at that time, correct?

Also do you actually get the share certificate with Sharebuilder?

Thanks!

with sharebuilder,, but please keep in mind, i am a beginner at this investing thing too:)
I went with the real-time trades instead of the sharebuilder plan setup,, that way i was
able to buy the amount of stocks i wanted at a price i set..Took about a week , to transfer
from my checking to my sharebuilder account,,then i was all set to trade,, now comes the sad
part
:( :( I only bought 2 shares of disney and 50 shares of some company that i had never
heard of,,Why because my so called "expert" brother:) said it was my best bet,,a sure
thing,,and i have been watching it go up and down ever since,,It was excitng at 1st, like
a good poker game,, but now i just want to call and be done with it,,
lol laurie

If you go with the 3 dollar fee from sharebuilder they buy once a week on tuesday.
