You misunderstand. These rooms are not broken. They are just ... tired. If you think you haven't experienced shower curtains, decades old carpets, dated technology, stained tiles, etc. on the older ships, they must not matter to you. Not that they aren't there.
Our kids grew up cruising on Disney - and just loved Disney's wholesome family experience.
DCL will always have a special place in our hearts. We have toured a lot of Europe on the Magic, journeyed through the Panama Canal - and into Alaska - on the Wonder, and have gone back year after year to
Castaway Cay.
And the new ships mean we also won't have to trade nostalgia for our creature comforts.
I very much agree other cruise lines have better adult experiences - including solariums, specialty dining options, itineraries, etc. And you can cruise in their suites for the price of a verandah on DCL.
But hey, who says we have to pick just one? In fact, experiencing something different can help you appreciate both — like we’re worldly travelers expanding our horizons, not just repeat offenders at the DCL popcorn stand. And it’s nice to remind ourselves that yes, there are other places on Earth besides Castaway Cay… even if it’s only for a week!
