I posted about missing out on Palms by Lexington hotel; then the post about the MagicCard came up.

LSS - I have made a reservation for Comfort Inn LBV for 2 nights - $49/night - in October. I am very happy with the price and the location - near enough to Sea World, but not too far from WL where we'll be checking in afterward. I also like that it is near the Premier Outlets. Yippee!

I'm praying that it won't be a bug-infested rat-hole. I read 2 reviews here that indicate that it COULD be an ok place for 2 nights... as long as I get a parking lot view (which I requested) and not a family suite.

Please tell me it will be OK - we're not expecting the Peabody...just a decent place to spend 2 nights.

I have stayed there twice and it was clean and comfortable both times. The only thing is that they have outdoor corridors so if you do not feel safe with those you may want to change. Location is excellent.
Relax and enjoy :cool1:

I am still considering this hotel for Xmas thru New year. I can get a rate of $37 incl tax here in UK. Someone on here said even if it was free they would not stay there again. Reviews are very mixed from this opinion to great value hotel. I am waiting to see if rate for Courtyard by Marriott LBV comes down in price (just stayed there for 25 nights at $46incl great hotel), if not I might risk here at this rate. Post a review or PM me please when you have been.

Having stayed at the LBV Comfort Inn several times with no problems, I am unable to figure out the negative reports----unless someone didn't get a comp they wanted and thought a bad report would get them even....it happens. Anyway, its' not upscale, but each time we went the room and furnishings were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. If you're overly sensitive and bothered by hwy noise request a room away from I-4. And Have A Good Time :cool1: :smooth:

I am relieved each time I see a positive about this place. I keep praying it won't be like the place we stayed in around Sevierville, TN...on a long-haul drive with no ressies, needed a place to stay one night. Ended up at a Knights Inn which was HORRIBLE. Lumpy mattresses and flea bites to boot.

Then there was the place I picked for a 10th anniversary get-away with DH at Jekyll Island, GA. Supposedly a beach-front establishment...well, I guess *technically* it was beach-front, but there was a playground between us and the beach about 1/2 mile away. I hate getting burned!

But as long as this place is clean and resonably comfortable, for the price I won't feel burned.

Wayneg,

Where did you get the $46 night rate for the Courtyard LBV? I know you say it's not that low right now but that was a great rate and I just wondered where you got it. Thanks.

Donna

I stayed there Aug. 25-27 and was pleased with the place for the rate I got ($43/night). The room was very clean - only problem I had was it reeked of cig smoke (NS room). I probably could have gotten another room, but I just went to Walmart and got some neutralizinng spray.

Otherwise I had a great stay!! HTH!!! :teeth:

We are booked to stay here on Dec 21st. We are going to MVMCP that night & didn't want to pay alot for a hotel that we would only be sleeping in. We got a rate of $54 at the moment but I am going to try for the $49 Magic Card rate instead. I to am hoping it is clean.

Hi Donna
If you search thru thread below(my 1st post was on page 3 I think) you will find info where I booked but it was earlier in year. I think it was at $44 when I booked (price varies slightly with exchange rates)
I am wanting to book 2 rooms for 11 nights at Xmas, 1 room for 14 nights at Easter and 1 room for 25 nights next Aug so need a good rate.
I actually sent an email to BA(agent I used) 10 minutes ago, asking if they were going to be offering this hotel again soon.

I DID read your trip review and it was helpful. My family HATES cigarette smoke so hopefully we won't have a problem getting a smoking room by mistake. I'm glad your stay was otherwise fine...

Thanks!

Eeyore - there were two magic card rates - one for low season and one for high. I'll bet so close to Christmas, it could be high. I think that the "high" for Magic Card might have been $59 - so you might be better off with what you have. But it's worth a try!

the Courtyard by Marriott is gone - now it is a Holiday Inn.

www.downtowndisneyhotels.com

Holiday Inn make a mistake and listed it for 1 cent - so I won't expect any great discounts from this hotel (when it opens) for a while.

I thought I read the high rate was the $49 & low rate was $39. I will check again before I call & make any changes to my ressie. Thanks

I just checked the Magic Card site & the rates are $49 for Peak Season & $39 for off season for a standard room. The family suites at $69 for both peak & off season.

We just stayed there the last week of August. It is a very basic motel. It was clean, bigger than our room at Pop, had a reg. soft chair which Pop could use!
a refirig. and a microwave. Less noise than at Pop from other rooms. We faced the highway but didn't hear excessive noise and my kids loved seeing the ducks and birds in the retention type pond from our balconey every morning. Also much closer parking to room. The only downside was the breakfast you have to go into the dining room and be seated by a hostess and then not great selections- which is ok for the price don't get me wrong- but don't make me wait for a seat, let me grab my coffee and donuts or cereal and leave. We have stayed here twice and for the money with the location can't be beat.

I was confused. Good luck getting your $49 rate.

It was there all Aug, we spent 25 nights there. :thumbsup2
You are getting mistaken with Courtyard by Marriot Downtown Disney which changed to Holiday Inn. The one at LBV is still there http://marriott.com/property/propertyPage/MCOBN

Wayneg,

Thanks for that link. Very interesting. We're going the first week of December and the rate for that time period is high. In fact, it's kind of high at all of the hotels in that area. I'm hoping they will come down some before I need to book.

Donna

We have stayed at the LBV Comfort Inn twice and we have reservations to stay for six nights again the first full week of December. We have a rate of $49 per night in a double non-smoking room. It is a clean comfortable hotel, and the staff are nice. Although they have outdoor corridors, they have a security staff, and we have always felt save there. We like the location, the staff, and the amenities offered.
