a friend of mine called me yesterday from Orlando, He shoots commercials for a living there, Disney too.. He says all the local restaurants are very very crowed and gas is a little tough to find without a line..also Monday milk of his cereal was no where to be found..
so if your going this week and shop off property ..maybe others can give more info.. He lives in West Lake ? 10 mins from the park.

Have fun ... i will be there in 4 weeks !

He also said Disney lives in its own world that everything there is a lot better, but just get your gas and food before you check into your villas... He was in Miami and missed the storm, returned home Monday and was surprised at the amount of damage in Orlando.

here is the link to the local Orlando paper seems to confirm his thougths

here the business get priority - they paid more for that service - so they get the power back first.

then the big resident - then the individual

so alot of the these people could be without power until Sept

I now that most of the Southern States send power cruses down to Fl (Al and Ga definitely did) - so I hope they will make head way and soon have lights up....

If you are not in a city it will take a longer time.

did the rescue workers get to everyone?

Karen Clark, the chief executive of AIR Worldwide, a Boston firm that provides damage assessments for insurance companies, said some of the most severe destruction came from surging seas sweeping across the barrier islands and beaches of Florida's Gulf Coast in the vicinity of Punta Gorda as the hurricane first made landfall.

But Clark and field representatives of insurance companies said Orlando, with its glistening downtown office towers, Walt Disney World and other huge theme parks, was also hit hard even though the storm's gusts were diminishing as it moved through the center of the state and skimmed past Daytona Beach on its way to the Atlantic Ocean.

"We have a swath of damage across the state," she said. "Lee and Charlotte Counties on the west coast were the hardest hit. But the damage in Orlando is also significant."
