When I go to a certain website to get a quote for air that when I put in for 2 adults and 1 child they quote me over a thousand, then if I put in for 3 adults they are more reasonable such as around $230 or so? :confused3 Anyone know the answer? If I book my dd9 as an adult what can happen? Thanks

Because it's a computer glitch. The "discounted" child fare is usually based on the discount from the FULL fare ticket cost. So your child is being charged a percentage of a fully refundable "Y" ticket fare! Some websites have logic to address this and some don't. Sounds like your's doesn't so I woud just go with the three adults.

About booking your child as an adult. I just accidentally did this for our upcoming April trip. I booked it and then when I was looking at the confirmation it said 4 adults! I panicked a little because knowing my luck they would not let my kids fly because their tickets say adult and they of course are obviously not adults.

I called (United) and the c/s rep said it was no big deal at all and that he would just make a note with their ages and to not worry that it happens all the time.

So I say book it with the cheaper fair and just call and correct it afterwards.

Good luck!!!

I've never had a child fare be cheaper than an adult fare unless it was a child under two, and sometimes that has come discounted. I would book as an adult. They shouldn't say anything since you paid for a seat either way.

Thank you all! The thought of being "detained" :sad2: because of this was a little nerve wrecking! :goodvibes
