I have the rotation menu for Boma if anyone is interested...

My heart almost stopped there. I really hope they have it when I go :( I'm not even sure if it was called peanut butter rice. All I know is that it tasted like peanut butter...

Now I'm craving a bite of the pickled watermelon rind. It's cut in strips like pickled ginger and has a similar kick.

Oh and the dessert bar...........so many tiny tasty tidbits......;)

We had no been to Boma's in awhile. No particular reason, other than there are just so many places to dine at WDW.
It was pretty much as I remembered it.
I don't recall eating any rice that tasted like peanut better. One rice dish I sampled was pretty simple and even I could make it. :rotfl2: I think it was just yellow rice with white raisins.
The dessert section is to die for. They have so many varieties.
They also had several soups. I did not try any. DH had a cup of the carrot ginger and said it was VERY good.

Besides the spare ribs, there was (skinless) chicken. Much more bland than the spareribs. It was good. Just chicken with some spices, and a hint of smoke flavor.
They also had grilled salmon and what looked like prime rib, but I don't know that it was. (Rare, and I passed.)

In addition to all the meats and numerous salad and rice dishes, they also have good fresh fruit variety. (Melons, grapes, strawberries, fresh pineapple, etc.)

Their menu also offers a pot of pressed coffee, or teas. I noticed one tea type (Eros) was the same type I had at the GF Garden Tea earlier this month. I wonder if they are carrying that same brand of tea GF is. And the brand name is "Tea".
We just drank unsweet ice teas last night.

Boma is a good buffet. For less adventurous diners there is always the kids section with mac n cheese and chicken.

The FuFu is the sweet potatoe mix. I think it is half sweet and half white potatoes. Or at least a combination of the two.

Anyone who walks away hungry is extremely picky or too sick to eat.

Mmm... We love Boma, too! The banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce is wonderful!! And I love all the soups and sauces, and the peanut butter rice!! I've never had the coconut rice before; that sounds good, too. We eat at Boma on every trip. There's just so much wonderful food! I can't wait to eat there again in January!!!

I would love to hear more about Boma and what you ate while you were there. :) Also if you can remember what day of the week it was that would be helpful. :goodvibes

The first time I ate at Boma, which I believe was on a Tuesday, I had flank steak, some kind of chicken, potatoes, watermelon rind salad, pasta salad, crab soup, and butternut squash soup. I absolutly loved the soups. The desserts were very good too, zebra domes, chocolate mousses, and coconut tiramisu. That was in 2005 though so I don't know how accurate that is as far as the rotational menus go.

When I ate there last year, on a Thursday, I loved the prime rib. I also had some kind of potato and bacon soup, which was all right, but not nearly as good as the soups I'd had previously. I also had some sweet potato stuff, which I guess was the fufu, but I'm not sure, that was really good though. The desserts that time were the zebra domes, though they were better the first time, milk tart, coconut tiramisu, and some kind of bread pudding. The chocolate mousse was no longer little individual pieces, and is now in a big bowl, I didn't have any.

Awhile back I remember a thread that had a link to the Boma buffet schedule... as to which dishes are served each night. We have an ADR for this Monday night  and I was hoping to see what would be offered that evening.

Thank you :flower3:

I would also love to hear about this. We have an ADR here for Friday 9/28. It will be our first time there!

I would love to hear anyone's comments on Boma. We are planning to eat there on our upcoming trip but we have a picky eater (DD 11yo).

I think I've seen the topic of boma and picky eaters a time or two. I'm sure a search of this forum woudl give you tons of responces.

Does anyone know the rotational menus for dinner at Boma? I once had the best pork there, and I would love to have it again. I haven't been successful at dining there on the pork day in a long time. I wondered if anyone knew the rotational menu so I can plan accordingly. :)

Hope this helps :)

Sunday menu is cooks choice.

I had the best pork at Boma the last time I was there. It was slices of pork loin in a pineapple chutney, it was also one of my mom's favorites too. That was on a Friday night.

Please don't rely on this rotation schedule to be *exact*. We ate at Boma this past Monday and many things were different than shown on this schedule.

:thumbsup2

I'm hoping that is correct. We go in March and the only day we can go is a Tuesday and the salmon doesn't appeal to any of us but DH:scared: . I hope it is like Wednesday and Saturday with the different types of ribs or pork loin.

That menu from Zakatak was posted in February 2004, and I have no idea when it was created.

I am sure the chefs have changed the menu somewhat over the last few (almost 4) years.

It sure would be nice if someone knew the current rotation (NOZakatak). The Boma menus posted on the web sites I have checked are pretty generic. :surfweb:

Any AKL CMs or regulars out there with updated menus?
