I had read the thread about the bad neighbors and thought I would share my experience of this past Saturday and let you know about my GOOD neighbors.
My hubby had a diabetic seizure while on our back deck. I found him and started to panic. I knew that there were kids in the yard next door so I ran to the end of the deck and starting yelling for help. Almost immediately the couple next door ran to my aid. Within seconds my yard and deck were filled with people trying to help. A 16 year old young man stayed on the phone with 911 paramedics and kept them updated as to my hubby's condition. Another youngster stayed in the front of the house and directed the ambulance and police officers to us.
I don't know where so many people came from, I am just grateful that they came. The street was lined with well wishers and offers of help.
Fortunately Hubby was fine. He was treated and released and DD and DSIL and I brought him home later in the day.
We all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what little things that neighbors do to irk you, please stop and think that maybe a day will come that you will need help and they will be there for you.
I thank God for all of them and pray that someday I will be able to repay their kindnesses.
