I have stayed at all DVC resorts.

This has been a goal of mine, but since we discovered VB its been mostly VB and somewhere else every 3rd year. Not sure we'll be able to keep up (w/DVC) without more points.

I have stayed at three and my order of preference is BCV, then BWV's then SSR. I really love all three but give the Epcot DVC's the advantage for their location.:cloud9:

we are the proud owner's of ssr, bwv, akv, and a new small resale at vwl. we have stayed at bcv, bwv, akv, wlv, and okw. favorite order is bcv for location and sab, wlv for peace and quite and the easy access to mk, akv for the sheer beauty and marvelous food. we do like bwv also but do not find the personel there very friendly and the fact that the exterior secluded doors are not locked late night. okw is fantastic but it takes so long for the buses to pickup and deliver that we feel as tho we lost a lot of time.;)

can't wait for crv to start selling. also can't wait to try california.:thumbsup2

guess we just love it all.:jumping1:

but then, that is the only one we've had the chance to stay at yet. We did really enjoy it though. In the next 11 months we will be taking two short trips to HHIR, spend three days at VB before heading on to OKW, and then finally going home for the first time to AKV next January! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3:

Can't wait :hourglass to see how they compare, but I'm sure we will enjoy them all!

Thanks GEB@OKW! Just this morning I finished booking 4 nights in a studio concierge at AKV. I am very excited. I think we will try the sunrise safari since we have a 7 year old (will be 8 then) and I am not sure the sunset one is worth the money for her. :) But, I am excited about the daily food offerings and a place for me to go in the early morning for some coffee while my family sleeps and I work a little. Yes... I know, it is vacation, but oh well, it is what I do and I have to pay for the add on points somehow! :)

Great thread. Thanks for everyone's lists. I'm a DVC wanna-be. Well, actually in ROFR currently. I was just interested in an observation. I was torn between buying at BCV vs BWV. I know both are great and such but, why did most experienced DVC peeps rank BWV higher?

I plan on trying out both myself, so don't worry about being "politically correct".

Thanks

the BCV versus BWV is a personal decision (we own at both, as well as at SSR, btw:) ).
good:
BCV has SAB pool, which is akin to a mini waterpark (& not included in the DVC pool-hopping privilages), & a counter service restaurant. parking can be close to your room. there is also a sandy beach for relaxing.
BWV has standard view rooms (which require less points) & BW view rooms (incredible views of illuminations:cloud9: ), both of which can be difficult to get if you don't own there. we have stayed in all the view types tho, & found every one amazing. the BW itself is full of activity: facepainter, hairbraider, magician, sword-eater, surrey bike rental, etc, arcade-type games, as well as adult entertainment in jellyrolls (dueling pianos). a stroll along the BW is one of our favorite ways to end a day in WDW :cloud9:
bad:
BCV has less than stellar views, imho (our epcot view included a service road). we have found the resort & pool to be very noisy, & the pool does get extremelly crowded.
BWV does not have a counter service (except for the BW bakery, which is limited). some have complained of the long hallways & that the BW views can be noisy (not our personal experience tho). parking can be far depending upon the location of your room.
again a personal decision, but we greatly prefer the BWVs for the views, elegance, & activities. there are multiple stairways, and have found the "long hallways" and walk to parking lot non-issues.
BCV is simply too noisy & "busy" for our tastes, but is still a beautiful resort (as are all DVC resorts). in all likelihood, we will sell our BCV contract, & either purchase more BWV points, or buy points at the CRV once they are offered.
good luck with your decision! :)

like this thread...we became members on 9/1/07..stayed in 3 DVC resorts already:) Pretty good start...
Loved SSR....so peaceful and CM's were the best
Loved AKV...cant beat that savannah view and I like how the resort is layed out..
BWV....ok.....great location...did not like the lack of food options, very loud where our room was...CM's not friendly, and it was my families first Welcome Home...and the Cm was about as friendly as someone about to undergo a root canal...big disappointment.
However, not BWV's fault:) Just not my cup of tea, still glad we stayed there..loved the bathroom set up, and the balcony on the 1 bdr was very small compared to the 1 bdr at AKV.
OKW next, a 2 bdr:)
