The neighborhood Dairy Queen opened for the season today! Yipppeeeee!!!!!! I am pulling out the couch cushions in search of errant change and money and preparing to head out the door!!!!

Got me some cold cash and made my first DQ purchase of the season!! I had the strawberry shortcake and it was delicious!

I agree with everyone - the birds have woken me up the last two mornings - although it was only 1 degree this morning. No signs of daffodils or crocuses yet, though!

In most small Texas towns, their government would colapse if their local Dairy Queen closed for the winter. For some reason, Dairy Queens have become the social centers for small Texas towns.

It sure seems like spring today in Austin. It's 78 degrees outside right now. You'd never know we had an ice storm last week.

The DQ in our neighborhood just re-opened under new management. The day it opened there was a DQ cone mascot standing out by the street waving at traffic. That was the funniest thing I've seen this year, so that's my new "sign of spring" I'll be looking for from now on(his face was in the soft serve and it even had the little curley-q thing on top).
