I hope I'm in the right section for this..

can someone give me a quick rundown on how to rent points to stay at a DVC resort. I usually stay at a value resort. but we would like to stay at a bigger place... maybe something that can sleep 5 - 6 adults? No way I would be able to afford rack rates... someone told me to look into renting/ Im thinking for next spring. How much (average cost) would it cost for a weeks stay? Im not picky on which resort, more concerned with the size, a suite.. with separate bathrooms and rooms.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Cost varies highly depending on time of year and resort. For a 2 bedroom expect to pay between $4000-5500 for your week renting points at $14 per point.

Thank you. Very much :)

When it's $14 per point. When looking at charts that say. 35 points. And gives specific dates. What does that equate too ? Is that 35 points per night ?

I will read over the info you guys suggested. Thanks again.

You will probably find this point calculator useful on David's Vacation Point Rentals:

http://www.dvcrequest.com/PointsCalcNew/PointsCalc.asp

You can enter your intended dates for checking in and out, and it will show you what it costs in points for every kind of room, and if you hover the mouse over one of the point numbers it shows you the price in dollars (at $14/point).

while reading the sites sugggested above... It is very different from regualr resort rentals thro Central Res.

Lots of restrictions. This might be the only way I will get to experience staying at these resorts.

thanks again I will keep reading and when the time comes I will definitely contact the DVC Rental website
