We are currently booked at BLT but b/c flight times changed, we now need to add a day on the front end of our reservation. There are no longer rooms avail at BLT, so we are looking at staying at another resort and transferring to BLT the next day. Do I have to got to the front desk and check out of that hotel? What do we do about luggage transfers? Also, am I better off going directly to BLT and checking in even though a room is not available or do I go over there mid day to check in? How much of a pain is it?

My other concern is with dining plan. The dining plan is with the room reservation, correct? So, does that mean each room res and time a switch takes place I would have to purchase a separate meal plan? When do the meal plan credits need to be used up by for each reservation? We are doing a grand gathering and want to make sure this is not too complicated and confusing for everyone.

One other thing. We are looking at purchasing 10 day non expire. I am concerned about ticket prices going up b4 our trip and will probably get tickets in the next month or two. Do you all transfer your tickets to your KTTW cards or do you keep them separate? Are there any complications or issues with buying the tickets thru a reseller? Can you still upgrade to AP if you buy from reseller?

Thanks for your help!

Make sure you waitlist for the first day just in case it becomes available. When you switch Disney will transfer you luggage for you and yes I would check in in the morning at BLT, maybe you'll get lucky and be in early. Its really painless we have done it at the same resort, different room types, and different resorts BCV to BWV.

The dining plan is with the room reservation so you would have 2 plans. But in my honest opinion I wouldn't even book the dining plan for that first night just book it for you main stay at the BLT unless a waitlist comes through for you whole stay. Meal plan credits would have to be used up by midnight on the check out day.

Unfortunately I can't answer this but I am sure someone else will help you here....

Good Luck and have fun:thumbsup2

We bought tickets from Undercover Tourist last year and had them transferred over to our KTTW cards during our split stay at BWV/AKV. I wouldn't say it was a major hassle or anything (since when we checked in both times it wasn't all that busy) - however I wouldn't call it the easiest process either. Maybe others have had better experiences than we did - but this is what happened when we did it.

They couldn't do it at the actual check-in desk, but rather at the Concierge desk. After I checked us in at BWV I had to go over to the Concierge desk and gave them our just issued KTTW cards and our tickets - and got brand new KTTW cards with the tickets then added on (why they couldn't just put the ticket media on the KTTW existing KTTW cards I don't know... she said it was some quirk in the computer system). Then they kept the KTTW cards issued from the check-in counter.

At AKV, after checking in, I had to go over to Concierge and go through the same process, except I had to turn over our KTTW cards from BWV PLUS hand them the just issued KTTW from the AKV check-in counter. Again they issued brand new KTTW cards with the remainig ticket media added, and kept the KTTW crds issued from the check-in counter. (I got to keep the old BWV cards, but only after I asked for them since my DW likes them for the scrapbooks-otherwise the person at the desk was about to keep them too.).

We'll have AP's for our next trip so it won't be a problem, but our next family trip will include my parents, and we'll be getting their tix from a UT or someother vendor - so for theirs, unless things have changed since our last visit, we'll be going through the same process for their tickets once more.

Your choice. Personally I'd keep them seperate (I'm not sure how they'd get any remaining days back onto the tickets at the end). Yes, if you use one day on the ticket, you'll get the face value for the ticket vs. the discount price applied to the Annual pass! :woohoo: Don't forget to get the DVC discount on them and if you can get one of the "upgrade" cards from a current AP holder you can get another 10% off that. (I'd offer you one of mine, but they haven't arrived yet).:sad1:

Look at the pricing too. If your next trip is within a year of your current trip and you have the DVC discount, do the AP... Its about $75 to $100 cheaper with the DVC discount than the 10day non-expire park hopper and you can get a few discounts like at WOD. Also, you could do TIW instead of DP... depending on how much you like to eat, TIW can be a better deal.

AS luck would have it, my upgrade cards came today, so if you're interested, PM me and I'll send one out to you (discount good for up to 6 AP's on each card)
