$10 for 2 cokes and an order of nachos (because Mom was too busy getting ready to leave the house that she forgot to eat earlier in the day )
$8 in cotton candy
$10 for a light up Elmo
$8 for a Sesame Street mini-soccer ball

Watching DS squeal and dance and smile as big as I have ever seen him.....PRICELESS!!!!

If you can't tell we went to see Sesame Street Live this afternoon and we had a great time. I was a little apprehensive at first and I was not sure how DS would react to the characters and the lights/noise, etc. but he did SO well! He loved it and he was being such a nut dancing around and having a great time. The show was pretty entertaining even for us parents but DS was the real show. He was a riot and loved every minute of it. It was such a great memory for me and DH to see him having so much fun dancing with his beloved Ma-mo (Elmo).

There are some days when being a parent is even better than you think it ever could be and today was one of them! I just had to share and if any of you are thinking of catching a SSL show in your area I would highly recommend it. Great fun and very well done.

Our now 18 yr. old DD was Nathan's age when she went to see Sesame Street Live - and I so remember the joy and excitement you just described!

wow your post really brought tears to my eyes. I haven't taken DS 2 to anything like this yet. But it is so great just watching him react to all different aspects of life.

Isn't that the best?!?!?!!!!!!! I felt the exact same way when DD was dancing in her chair at "Monsters on Ice" just a couple of months ago. When I saw her doing it, I looked around and ALL the kids were doing it. Just as much fun for the parents as the kids.

I don't know if she'll hold that memory forever, but I sure will.

Savor these moments. In the not too distant past, we used to take our two kids (now 5 and 7) to see all of the live character shows. DD was partial to El-moo (Elmo.)

Today, just the very mention of Sesame Street, Barney or Teletubbies will send them into a "Oh Mom that's for babies..." screaming tirade!

The only shows that we see now are the Disney on Ice shows. Unfortunately, my dh is now starting to roll his eyes at the very mention of an ice show. We've seen TS2, Disney Princesses, Disney Classics and the Jungle version. Next up--Monsters, Inc!

My dd1 called Elmo: Elbow and dd2 Becca calls him Ellllmoooow.

Just watching a child's face light up when they see their favorite character is priceless for the parents.

My girls reacted that way the 1st time they saw Pooh & Gang and Cinderella.
