I have just waved a magic wand over your head..

When I really was 6, I was a fairy. I had a beautiful blue dress with golden wings and a wand.

If I was to be 6 now, probably Minnie Mouse.

I will be odd one say a Voltron Defender of Universe costume. No I am not kidding.

When I was really 6, we didn't celebrate Halloween. But if we did, I would have been a girly cowboy (not a cowgirl, a cowboy with pink boots). I always wanted those cowboy boots. :)

If you turned me into a six-year-old now, I would be a snow princess. :)

Probably this!

LOL!! That's what my DD (then 9) wore last year!! It was SOOOO appropriate for her! LOL!!

I will have to find some pics of her in it!

Hey C. Ann, that's a great idea for another fluff thread for you - everyone post pics of their kids in their costumes!

As for me....if I were 6, I guess I'd be a princess. I loved big poofy dresses :goodvibes

I'm kind of sad this year because DD13 has decided she's too old to dress up. I didn't want her to go out trick-or-treating, but I thought she might dress up for a Halloween party she's invited to attend. She half-heartedly decided to be a dancer, so she's just wearing her ballet clothes. (what she wears to class, not a recital outfit). On the other hand, I am excited, because it was my year to work, and someone offered to work in my place, so I get to be off with my children! :goodvibes

So 6 in 2009- I would want to be Tinkerbell! Heck maybe I will be tinkerbell this year!

Cinderella with pumpkin and horse drawn carriage to go door to door with. Hey a girl can dream

When I was originally six, we had all had homemade costumes... or else those cheap plastic apron-style ones with the plastic mask that always had eyeholes that were too small.

One year, I was a little old lady (frumpy dress, stick for a cane, "granny" glasses, baby powder in my hair). Another year, I was Annie (plastic store bought costume). Can't remember all of the costumes, but I can remember Mom putting makeup on me and the excitement of getting all ready to go out TOTing.

My daughter is 5 this year and is going as a T-Rex.... yes, I bought her a Cinderella costume and had to return it because she'd rather be a T-Rex just like her 8 year old brother. :rotfl2: I told her, "Yes, they did have girl T-Rexes. Otherwise, they couldn't have boy T-Rexes."

If we're talking about six when I was six (a long, long time ago) - Mary Poppins. This was back way before VCRs and DVDs but I went to see her at the theatre and had the Mary Poppins Soundtrack album and a Mary Poppins doll. I loved Mary Poppins. :lovestruc

If I were choosing a costume based on what is around now.........hmmmm, I think I'd be a kitty cat.

For some reason, I want to be a cupcake.

1973 -- Native American (but we would have called it "Indian") because I wanted to be Cher

2009 -- Perry the Platypus

If I was 6 right now, I would be Tinkerbell. :) But when I was really 6 there was no store bought costume for me, instead my Mom took an old white sheet and cut eye holes for me, I was a ghost....ala Charlie Brown but without the extra eye holes. LOL I used that costume for like 6 years.....I LOVED being a ghost!

don't remember what I was when I was six.....but I remember the year I dressed up as a cigarette girl and everybody thought I was Peter Pan (I had made the costume myself and was so proud of it until I had to keep telling people I wasn't Peter).

Now I would probably want to be Belle in the blue dress.

I know, I know!!!

It would be a STORE BOUGHT Skeleton. The kind that is black pants and a back shirt with white bones all over your body where your bones actually are!

Alas, I never got this. We always had to have hand-made costumes that my mom slaved over making just perfect for us. I was a gypsy and Wonder Woman and a ghost and then a gypsy three years in a row.

(Hey, you said we were six! That's how I felt about hand-made anything at aged 6!)

I did get to have the STORE BOUGHT skeleton costume once, though. Except it wasn't right. It was just the icky kind with with black nylon pants and the dumb shirt with a skeleton on it and that skull mask. Mom tried, so I said thank you much much and acted like I liked it. :thumbsup2

OMG!!!

I was reading through this thread and saw the comment on being an Indian. Yes, that's what we would have called it and not a native American. Times change.

To prove times change, another of my home-made costumes was a Hobo.

Yes. A Hobo. With ratty clothes, an old men's coat, and a cigar. My mom put her dark brown eye shadow on my face to make it look like I had a beard.

I would be Thomas Paine or Rene Descartes or somebody really high-toned that I can quote fluently and at length... cause a six year old doing that would freak people out.

Also, at some point in the night I would slip away and "get lost". Then I would start bawling my eyes out and looking for attractive young moms to comfort me....

...

...okay, a pirate. I'd be a pirate.
