Not serious in any way, but annoying. MY HAIR. I got a short hair cut last October and in my normal rhythm, I am growing it out again. Unfortunately it is not long enough to pony tail and I just get so hot with hair on my neck. Any suggestions for getting it off my neck, short of getting it cut again?

Thanks,
Kim

as someone who was born on a bad hair day, i sympathize....or is it empathize?

whatever, i understand...

unfortunately, i have no suggestions....

i've been growing mine out for a few years now....after 3 decades of very short...

i suppose you could wear a hat that pulls it up somehow...
or how about one of those big headband things...are they fashionable these days?

I also hate any hair at all on my neck. It has been a long time since I have had a pony tail.

1. A wide headband would pull your hair up off the back of your neck.

2. Gee, that was my only idea.

Are you sure it will be all that hot in April?

I have been known to find a Super Cuts when the heat is intolerable and I am on vacation. That is another option.

I am going to have to try and find some of my old hair things. My hair is fine and loves to slip out of most hair comb type things. 4 weeks might get some of it long enough to be helb by those spring clip type hair doodads. I see a lot of barrettes and spring clips in my future.

And anything over 75 degrees makes me feel too hot. That's one of the reasons I am going in April, since it is cooler. Relatively speaking.

Kim, if some hair to pull up off your neck is your only problem, you are going to have a great time! :goodvibes

Is it long enough to ponytail some of it up and the maybe use bobbypins to tack up the strays?

I hate being in that in-between stage and not being able to get it off my face & neck. I feel your frustration!

eta: oh, plan B, again if your hair is long enough to get some of it in a ponytail, use one of those headband things that look like a giant hairband and use that to keep up the strays that won't reach to the ponytail.

We've all been there. It's a crappy hair stage.

Get it cut (maybe at WDW), wear a baseball cap, or curl it and spray heavily. What else can you do?

I feel for you. I can't stand hair on my neck either when it's hot (anything over 70 degrees) but I never let anyone cut my hair too short to ponytail! I have to be able to put it up. A couple times it's just been a bit too short and I put it up anyway and used a couple really small jaw clips to hold the pieces that fall out. They usually hold pretty well. Good luck!

I feel for you, but have no suggestions. I used to have long hair, then went super short. I've tried to grow it out several times, but can't stand the inbetween stage so end up getting it cut again.

I am trying to make myself live through the inbetween stage. Small clips make be the way to go.

I don't suppose BBB is in the budget for first thing each morning ..... your hair (at least the kids' hair) doesn't budge for days! :rotfl2:

Seriously, I know the feeling. I don't like hair in my face/neck even in the cooler months. I don't know what you call them, but I have used those tiny little spring clips (kids ones are sometimes shaped like flowers/butterflies, etc) and roughly grip small sections pulling it away from my face the same way a hairband would hold it.

I feel for you. Hair on my face and neck when it's hot and humid is such a pain. Hats and visors are helpful.

I made a huge hair mistake last year when I got a cut & light perm a few weeks before our August trip. Thinking it would give me body and sort of bring it up and away from my neck and face. It felt like damp cotton candy for my August trip. By F&W in October it was still fuzzy and only slightly less pyramidlike by my December trip. Hoping it"ll be enough for a pony tail by my spring trip.
