I saw an ad in the paper last Sunday. Wolf camera has the Canon Rebel XTi on sale for 899.00 with an additional lens. So I am going Friday to get it.

I am also planning on getting a macro lens and that 50mm lens I saw on amazon... plus a tripod and a really good bag to carry everything in.

Just a warning - the questions will probably be flying once I start playing with my new toy. ;)

They also had the Nikons on sale :)

(yes I am one of the lowly Nikon lovers on this site)

Congrats on the new toy, I am sure you will love it, and don't be shy with the questions. :)

LOL Furgus one of my friends is also a Nikon lover.

Thanks KaitlinsMom. I am not sure where a Costco would be around here - if they even have them. My DH is not a wearhouse shopper. He hates them - I on the other hand love them. Maybe that is why he hates them so much. ;)

:rotfl2: thanks - now can you convince my hubby? You need a membership to costco don't you? I would honestly go in a heartbeat - but he does everything in his power to keep me away from those places. ;)

I understand why your husband hates them - Going there for me is worse than going to Target! It feels like there is no way I can get out of Costco without spending at least $100~!

I would ask some of your friends if they have a membership - You can always go in with them (they have to pay - you would just give them the $$) - To me, it would be worth saving the $100 - But then again, if you go in, you will probably see more stuff you want and end up spending that $100! :goodvibes

It's a great camera - I just got mine and love it! Enjoy your camera when you get it!!!

I guess everyone has stores that they dread. I do not mind the warehouse stores or Target, but Michael's and Jo Ann Fabric about kill me. I guess it is fair though when I subject my DW to the Best Buys, Circuit Citys, etc. where there is nothing that she wants to look at. I understand what your DH means with the warehouse stores though. Who really needs 30 lbs. of Beefarino? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Why not online? Beach Camera has the XTi with kit lens for $733, free shipping, no tax, or $660 with no lens (might be worthwhile as the kit lens isn't very popular.)

That's for the silver body, the black one is $90 more... strange. From a quick glance, they're identical except for the color.

It would cost you $35 to save $100. Thats $65 towards the 50mm f/1.8 lens you know your going to want :)

I used to get out for about $100, then I got remaried, and gained a few more kids. Now if we can get out for under $500 we are doing well. If I go by myself, I come out cheaper... If I take the wife, it is a bit more, but the kids are happier....

They are exactly Identical. The Black is more popular, so it cost more. Thats the reason mine is silver though, because I couldn't justfy the extra money for something that was purely estectic.
